alex should just straight veto it now but yeah hes a ponce. the same things WB had adelaide had the problem with no forwards for years. They get them and they all get poached by the recent gf appearing teams.
Where is the adelaide area cola. It's gotta go and this should be veto'd they are exploiting while the exploiting is good. The AFL is a joke.

This can be well achieved through other means, without compromising the competition and pillaging any decency left in the ladder. There's help and then there's manipulation.

The Giants nabbin' Buddy would've been better for New South Wales football. They would've become more competitive, even if just a little bit, and the marketing would've dragged more people to the game. With the Swans, the marketing and growth benefit is negligible but the ladder-manipulation is appalling.

So you want the AFL to take the power out of buddy's hands and influence the trade to push him towards GWS?

The AFL just want more people watching footy in NSW and QLD. Buddy going to Sydney will not be negliable.

If Sydney win another flag in the next 2-3 years (which was on the cards anyway), then GWS become a powerhouse and win at least 2 (much like Brisbane), both teams will flourish, as will AFL in Sydney, meaning more money for ALL teams.

Buddy to GWS would have been a bad decision imo - Cameron, Pattern AND Boyd in their forward line, PLUS a midfield who will tear the league apart. The money would have been MUCH more efficiently spent on some maturity in their backline/midfield.

Realistically, it wouldnt have mattered too much where he went in NSW or QLD - his marketing value will dwarf the 1.4 from Sydney.

It all about the $. This point seems to be lost on the intellectual community that is bigfloggy.

I'd be rapt as a Hawks supporter. The club will be stronger without him. Room in the salary cap and the team are better structured without him. As someone else here said, GWS may have dodged a bullet, and I think Hawthorn should be quietly content also.

The Swans are a disgrace. Cry foul, threatening legal action when Paul Roos (perfectly within the rules) speaks to an 18 year old player who they were going to rookie.

Then they use their cost of living bullshit to poach two of the best forwards in the comp in the last two years. But apparently that's all above board and ethical.

GTFO Swans

Pickers spoke to Sydney just after the GF last year.

This is just about as good a move as Ross Lyon (he only gets the nod as he went behind his managers back too). To keep this under wraps all season and to have everyone convinced he was going to GWS, its a bloody fair effort.

Said the whole time that I'm not that phased about him leaving and that it's sydney doesn't worry me. Him dealing with Sydney so soon after losing the GF to them does piss me off a fair bit. Good luck to Bud, hope he does well for the rest of his career, but that is pretty shit

I think that is something all of us can look forward to, so the competition is fair and Sydney supporters can stop having to deal with it being an asterisk against their performance.
Just like the Lions premierships with an extra 600k back then. And to think Matthews has the gall to say they were robbed of winning 4 on the trot

The top 10 Most Expensive (median house price)
Cottesloe WA Perth $2,000,000
Mosman NSW Sydney $1,922,500
Nedlands WA Perth $1,775,000
Woollahra NSW Sydney $1,650,000
Mosman Park WA Perth $1,520,000
Hunters Hill NSW Sydney $1,450,000
Claremont WA Perth $1,350,000
Waverley NSW Sydney $1,275,000
Willoughby NSW Sydney $1,150,000
Manly NSW Sydney $1,150,000

Bondi dont make it

Bondi has a bunch of small apartments. To be fair these figures really should be based on square metres. I'd guess Bondi would be much higher when assessed that way. A lot of those suburbs are up there because they have a large percentage of very large houses on very large chunks of land.

Sydney have just signed up a heap of future pain and done GWS a HUGE favour.

On field, Buddy is unable to take an overhead mark because his thumbs are shot and his best football is well behind him.

Off field, given his party-boy "ways" he will have a real propensity to go right off the rails in the harbour city.

Not sure his declining marketing clout can offset the above.

As Crows fans found out last year, Sydney fans are c*nts, smug f*ckers with little actually knowledge of footy. **** off back to NRL.

This really added to the conversation.

Stay classy Adelaide.

I dont know if Hawks are stronger without him, at least not short term. I dont think they will plummet down the ladder or anything; the Hawks have shown they are more then capable of winning well without him. However, he is still an extremely good player and there may be times he would be handy to have around; he still stretches the defense of most teams. Without him, it makes handling the forward line a slightly bit easier.

Geelong won the flag without Ablett, but it doesn't neccessarily mean the team is stronger without him.
