I'd just play Goater and Hardeman, we have invested there already. We need small and Tall forwards much more than we need an undersized defender who doesn't defend (despite being a good kick). We can play Sheezel or McKercher there too, not as if we don't have young talent around to chip scab 35+ under no pressure.

I was thinking about this trade this morning, and what I reckon happens from here depends on whether we get an additional second rounder by splitting either pick 2 or our F1.

In the NM member Q&A last night, it sounded like the club is looking to draft a small forward with the preexisting second rounder.

Hey, whatever you believe is true to you but Naughton & Darcy aren't gonna be cheap! And that is excluding any midfield talent you shake from the tree (and need to compete).

What if we throw $2m per year at Darcy? We could, should even. I can't see him signing to play for you for less than $1.5m (just an example). I'm sure he would tickle the fancy of a few clubs with cash.

If im Richmond im 100% all over this. Great replacement for Rioli and probably costs pick 39 + 41 (assuming Doggies will want 5 picks this year with 3 of them out + probably time to delist Keath + Johannisen to boot) which are probably picks that Richmond wont necessarily have to use anyway

Darcy, links to your club notwithstanding, would be the much better option for us ! I'd be comfortable offering him $2m if Naughton, for example, is getting $1.1m-$1.5m!

What value is he adding to sides that are contending? Very little

It's nothing less than a salary dump, other clubs get paid for that shit. We pay a Future 4th or you pay us a Future 2nd, could possibly work for CD in the event we don't Bradbury our way into overpaying both in picks and $ for Houston.
