Callan Ward - Part 2 - Officially gone to GWS

Congrats Igloo.
Surely there is some sort of prize for the 1000th post :p
Not sure if we have had 1000 posts for the rest of the year on all the other threads combined.

I agree, I deserve some sort of prize :D
We probably haven't had that many in all the other threads. I guess it goes to show going psycho at a guy leaving your club brings people together

I wonder what the thread would have been like if Higgins was the one to be going.

Re: Callan Ward

I've never understood why BigFooty closes threads at 1000 posts. What does it achieve?

Anyway, thanks for the memories Ward. Looking forward to watching us belt your mob by over 100 next year

Re: Callan Ward

With each post it creates more bandwidth required for the server each time a thread is opened so it would reduce the total cost of running the site* most threads on here use to be allowed to run to 1954 post (back when post counts per user was still shown) and a lot of poster had a history of a new name every 1954 and would make a special 1954 post bout something to do with the club.

Guess its not a tradition kept any more but ey it use to be tradition for players to show loyalty to the club from the town they grew up in as well

*May be false these days but I know it was the case back in the good old days of forum databases

Re: Callan Ward

Heard on the radio today, the bulldogs have put forward one last, massive 5 year offer, they will sit down and talk it through sometime this week.

Good that maybe just maybe Ward might stay, but we definitely shouldnt get bent over from this, we shouldnt pay WAY over the odds, as Fantasia said, Ward will be getting 50% more than he would with out GWS around, we cant pay too much because then we will lose roughy or someone else that we wont even get good compo for.

Really? Hmm I would have thought it would it would require the same amount of bandwidth to open 10 posts on page 50 of a thread as it would to open 10 posts on page one of a thread.

Re: Callan Ward

Tis the reason Chief's been giving for a heap of year's, I know another site that shuts down threads at 10k and some that allow em to go on for ever

On the radio (MMM) they said Ward and Fantasia were seen having a very serious discussion. Also after that Ward, Cross and Boyd were seen hugging and laughing together.

Who knows. Maybe he will stay but his performance today showed he def had something on his mind. Just didn't seem switched on.

"CALLAN Ward signs with GWS ... Richmond advises the AFL to provide the Dogs with Jordan McMahon as compensation."

That was the theme of several messages this week as battered, bedraggled and bitter Richmond fans quickly sprang into action on social media.

Finally, with the pain of another ninth-placed finish looming, there was morbid relief among some quarters of the Tiger Army that the McMahon-Ward link was about to be broken.

Ward will play his last game for the Western Bulldogs today. No doubt about it.

The only things left is a Callan to have press conference in GWS colours and AFL determining our compensation.

Re: Callan Ward

Dont know if anyone else noticed, but there was a shot from when the boys were singing the theme song and Callan was in the middle of the circle with Barry and Ben too. Certainly must be saying something....

Hope this is not true (fact he was in middle of circle)!

Re: Callan Ward - Part 2

The quicker Wednesday comes around and this circus is over the better.

I am truly over it. Didn't even notice him today, but kept an eye on Vez,Tutt,Dahl,Roughy,Jones,Libba and Wallis.

Re: Callan Ward - Part 2

Apparently Callan's been asking where in Sydney he can get hold of an American Pit Bull and a big big gun. Wants to become acclimatized to his new enviroment! Good Riddance
Overpriced and we have a more polished version in Wallis

P.S don't forget Callan compulsory to have a burnt out stolen car on the front lawn.

ALL that remains is official confirmation Callan Ward will be a Greater Western Sydney player next year after he played his last game in a Western Bulldogs jumper.

Ward is certain to tell the Bulldogs no later than tomorrow he has accepted a four-year deal with GWS, knocking back a five-year contract offer to stay at the Whitten Oval.

Enjoy an AFL Franchise Club GWS.

Re: Callan Ward - Part 2

Feel bad for you guys, and I hope you make life hell for Ward every time the Bulldogs play GWS.

Just as I will do to Scully if he goes.

Re: Callan Ward - Part 2

See you later you greedy prick.

God, this makes you appreciate players like Selwood, Bartel, Griffen etc

Callan Ward didnt put his hand up for this, he was aggressively stalked by GWS because he happened to fall out of contract in the wrong year. Griffen, Selwood and Bartel would have done the same. The club should have had some foresight and restricted this from happening.

He has more than paid for himself in his time at the club, and the club will be rewarded well for it.
