Again, just like the big 4 US sports. The way the population of the US is concentrated doesn't allow for an easy geographical carve up

Yep, I have an online map with all bids placed on it and the divisions that they lie within and one really stands out at the moment compared to the others due to the large amount of east coast teams (which makes sense with population and city locations). That is now why I am trying to steer those yet to bid away from the east coast.

If you look at the NBA, you have New Orleans and Memphis in the Western conference because they are in the western-most 15 teams.

It doesn't help that there is relatively nobody living around the rockies (compared to everywhere else)

Australia is quite similar though with massive areas of relatively low population. It would be tough to do an East and West conference for Australia.

Solution: Give Perth 16 teams, and split the other 16 across QLD, NSW, ACT, VIC and TAS. It's really not that hard...

Well here is a very rough outline (I have deliberately added areas to circles that do not feature teams in that division to throw off people from working out what teams are in, but to still give a general idea) of each division as it looks at the moment (Frontier isn't shown, but fits into the non circled area as well as crossing partially into the other circles). The circle colours mean nothing, just what I used before the divisions were named.

*NOTE: Divisions here look bigger than they actually are, and the vacant land looks smaller (partially due to my deliberate misleading and partially due to the shapes themselves).

The Eliitti conference requires just 2 more teams to be completed. Once it is filled and final conference alignments are made the teams will be announced. It is suggested that any new bids are not located on the east coast and should be from the land area west of the line created by joining Winnipeg/Greenbay/Chicago/Indianapolis/Nashville/New Orleans (these locations can also still be bid for).

The Oppilas conference still requires 7-8 teams, again bids from west of and including the above mentioned locations are preferred, however Eastern Canada (Ottawa, Montreal and Quebec City) is also still available as is the Tampa and Orlando region of Florida.

I would rather that you kept your old bids as I have locked in most of the locations of bids that have already been made as well as positions in divisions, changes now will cause some serious problems with alignments and what bids will be selected (put simply, a change now may have major knock on effects to everyone elses bids).

I know, my plan map only has the team names so I don't put any subconscious bias towards any team and when I put together the division image above and saw the teams with who bid I was like well that will be an interesting and tightly fought division.
