Not so much can they win the actual game, but will the win be rated by 5pm tonight which ever way the result goes? I know bottom line is they'll be very happy with the 4 points and likely don't care what people say, but how will the footy world see it (and the media sell it)?

Let's say Melbourne win the game, Scully and Trengove are outstanding, Jamar's best on ground, Roughead is held goalless and Miller kicks 5....will the footy world be giving Melbourne a pat on the back, or simply pointing out that Hawthorn had no ruckmen, would have been different if Buddy was playing and let's see how Scully and Trengove go against (insert my favourite team's midfield here) that isn't missing a hard nut like Sewell?

No, they can't.

Their skills look very ordinary, as does their decision making. Way too many turnovers.

Green going down doesn't help them in the slightest, either.

Wouldn't surprise if they hardly kick a goal. With Sylvia and Jurrah missing, there's barely a player out there for the Demons capable of impacting the scoreboard.

By the looks of the replies above, I'm guessing no one actually read the OP.

However, with the score now at 32 - 2, the question I did pose appears to be kind of redundant.

Hypothetically though, even if Melbourne did win this game, would anyone have given them kudos for being a good side?

No, Melbourne are a bottom 2 lock with us.

Yes, especially if they won it from here :eek:

Anyone check the 1st quarter out

What a discrace

Melbourne supporters say 24/7 about how good there young kids are doesnt mean crap if they cant handle pressure and cant hit a target

Even the older blokes arnt upto it

Im going to the TAB right now and backing them for the spoon

Some new questions;

* Can Melbourne score a goal today?

* Can Melbourne win a game against a "decent" side all year?

* Why do Melbourne exist?

* Has the private school recruiting drive backfired on them already?

Answers upcoming in 2010.

They seem to have gotten worse. They'll be lucky to get within 100 points.

Dean Bailey needs to learn from the Paul Roos coaching handbook - tailor the game plan to the players, not the other way around. They're trying to play like Geelong when they're clearly not good enough. He should be getting them to play one on one, simple football. Get some confidence and experience into these players before you try and follow Geelong's which works because they've got a side with experience and class.

It's embarrassing.

i hate to say it but we are a monty 4 the spoon the tigers our only competition and at least they showed something in patches im still waiting 4 us to show something
