My reasoning still stands. A pleading of guilty does not = an automatic conviction, either in Federal or State law. Pratt did not recieve one, therefore he is not a criminal. He might not be a good person for doing it, sure, but he is not a criminal.

So pleading guilty to a crime does not make someone a criminal? Either way, he's a very naughty boy!

Convicted is the result of a deliberation I believe, either jury or judge. Hence someone is charged - convicted and sentenced. People can take a plea bargain which amounts to receiving a sentence without having been convicted, there is an implied assumption of guilt.

Certain crimes become de-criminalised, meaning they no longer carry a criminal conviction if found guilty, hence no record against you. This is the case with de-criminalised small amounts of marijuana in some states. Hence a parking fine is a not a criminal offence, although you have been found guilty in the eyes of the law.

And yes their can be no criminal conviction for a civil offence, as it is in the wrong jurisdiction.

Despite all of this your points are all moot, Nelson Mandela spent 25 years in a jail as a convicted (or merely accused) terrorist....Gandhi and many others are in a similar boat, my favourite being Mordechai Vanunu look him up. The criminal act is relative and so one should use their judgement, like all things, rather than just pointing stupid fingers.

Pratt's behaviour is in no where near as bad as that carried out by many other sections of our society who do so with impunity, from the church to the federal and state government, with you the citizen consumer being dealt great injustices, far worse than Pratts situation, which on real inspection is almost negligible except for those with an agenda to push.

The Pratt issue is almost always brought up by people wishing to deflect attention from their own sorry state, (eagles) or insipid Carlton haters.

Not hard to do when your recruiting people were tipped off that he was returning home at the end of the season
They did due diligence, had a bit of luck the rest was hard work. Was it you or another knob surfer abusing our recruiters?

and then tanked games to ensure that your in the box seat.

Among one of the many myths that resonate with the bitter footy ideologues. It doesn't matter how many times you say it, still doesn't make it true. Try using facts in your life, they do make a difference.

Oh yes I forgot, it also helps when your club president is a convicted crimina

I saw you back track that one when you'd already stated your position with such authoritative certitude mr lawyer lol

How jelous people can be. What a massive pick up Judd is, I think too many people are forgetting how much of an absolute superstar he is. With his best footy in front of him he should be half the price he is for the Brownlow.
