His dad's brother is a member of whatever mob they are up there. That's pretty concrete.
I stand corrected. Not sure how you know it, because everything I could find on the topic was from 2021, but you've got pretty sound sources and judgment on this sort of thing.

What a blow for the Indigenous community.

I'm pretty sure I heard him say it in an interview.

I've also heard every indigenous player he played with considered him aboriginal.

I see you've posted over 60,000 times. Do you recall a single one of them ever being positive?
Many.

I see you rail at anything negative posted about the club.

Are you on a retainer to take issue with negative viewpoints?

15-1-91 since 2020.

Please put a positive spin on that for me.

Sorry Mate. The club has been run perfectly in this period of time. Rawling has been exceptional!. Viney has been handing out 4 year contracts to guns. Signing up Simpkin to 2069 a masterstroke. As was our venture into Co-Captaincy. Trading out that future first - a thing of beauty. CCJ what a recruit. getting rid of 69 players at the end of 2020. Well history has shown how much of a good move this has been. The club moving members from reserved seats on Level 2 without being totally transparent. Machiavelli loved it. No shorts sponsor. We don't need one. Playing games on the MAP. What a fortress. And the number of head coaches we have had. Clearly an indication of how many people are interested in coaching the Mighty NMFC. I could go on clearly but you get my point. The last 5 years has been perfection. :stern look

It's completely reasonable to be unexcited for Jy to be captain considering his footy and the lack of on-field leadership we've seen at the club in recent years.

That said the only viable alternatives I see are the vice captains and a recent recruit who has never played a game for North. Larkey isn't a great option due to playing deep and not coming off good form in 2024. I think Sheezel is probably ready but holding him back is probably prudent.
I'll back Jy in. I'm happy we no longer have two captains as it makes selection too rigid. I hope to see improvements in our on-field leadership as guys like Xerri, Comben and Phillips mature and Daniel and Parker assist with discipline and motivation in difficult circumstances.

Your general point is fair, but last I checked Viney is not the list manager responsible for player contracts.
And trading out the future 1st, only time will tell as to whether it was a good move, largely dependent on Mattlock's development and what we do with the Tigers 2025 R2. But yes easily to say it's not a good deal on the pick numbers if that is all you are looking at. It's a bit early to judge imo.
