Senior.
Only one in his era in the Team of the century.
Kicked close to 600 goals as a HFF/Wing. Then as a specialist full forward 1993-96 attained a higher goal kicking average than Lockett and Dunstall’s career.
The duck. Pffft.
Please.
You understand what / means?600 goals from a wing....lol
He played a couple of seasons on a wing (one of those at Hawthorn) but he played as a roaming forward when he kicked those first 600.
Then when he finally decided to play closer to goal (instead of ANYWHERE he wanted to play as a roaming forward)...he showed a real dominance from FF.
You understand what / means?
I said HFF/Wing. That means a mix of both.

Ablett was great to watch, could do it all and spectacularly, his highlights reel is awesome. Carey was a great leader of men and helped his team get over the line time and again. Individually Ablett was better he’s one of the best I’ve seen but for the team and his team mates, Carey was better.
He did for a period, and I saw some of the best goals kicked by him from the centre and wing. From his first game with Geelong in 1984 where he played wing and kicked 3 goals, to a game in 1986 v Richmond where things were tight and Mick Turner suggested Ablett do something. So he took the ball out of the middle, bounced once and bombed a 65 metre goalYeah I understand what it means BUT it insinuates that he kicked heaps of goals from the wing.
