Go ahead and add them
Lol u gave them sauce Jacobs and Eddie betts for nothing, there’s about 5 all australian jumpers there. They are loads better than the blokes you’ve bought in. You did well out of the Gibbs trade and so far the pick swap looks alright, but you’ve got a long way back to catch up with what you gave to them

By the end of this trade period:

........ Plowman ........
........ ............ .........
O’Brien Stocker Kennedy
Papley McGovern........
Betts DeKoning..........

Philips ......... ............

Give it another couple of offseasons and Silvagni will extract a whole team out of the crows.
Will they all play in the seconds behind the full team of GWS chaps who couldn't get a game there?
Marchbank Plowman Bugg
Pickett Jaksch Whiley
.... Kennedy ....
Sumner ... Lamb
... ... ...
Phillips Setterfield Palmer

We are talking specifically about the Silvagni/Reid era

Marchbank - gun
Plowman - good
Bugg - from melbourne
Pickett - injury
Jaksch - not from Silvagni era
Whiley - not from Silvagni era
Kennedy - good
Sumner/Lamb - 5 for 1 deal which got us Plowman and Philips
Setterfield - gun
Palmer - salary dump

Silvagnis trades with gws have resulted in 5 hits, one miss and one salary dump. Funny how people still use this outdated argument.

It’s amazing how your club has the worst list manager in the league and ours has one of the best yet you guys keep arguing with us.

Just accept that your list manager has been soundly beaten by sos and move on

There haven't been any decent players at Carlton since SOS has been there. We've already cherry picked the good ones.

McGovern for 13...lol. That's a win to the crows by a mile

Wake up, your club is in shambles and our club, under Silvagni, is now just adding the finishing touches to a powerhouse team.

The crows won’t get near the blues for the best part of the next decade.

"Powerhouse" :p...only a Carlton supporter!

Yep, we've said because we haven't made finals for 2 years we need to get our s**t in order...Carlton on the otherhand, celebrating a season where you sacked your coach mid-season and rode a wave of emotion to an amazing 7 wins! Let me check the ladder again for the last couple of years

Anyway, Brad Crouch will join Dylan Shiel, Josh Kelly and Stephen Coniglio in not joining Carlton next year

Perhaps you aren’t aware of this new fantastic concept of ‘youth.’

You see Carlton has been blooding this ‘youth’ for the past few years and whilst your club has been plodding around the middle of the table doing nothing, our club has developed this ‘youth’ to the point where this year, as one of the youngest teams in the comp, we can dismantle your shambolic team with ease.

This is Carlton’s 23 and under team who have all played AFL:

Williamson Weitering Goddard
SPS Marchbank Stocker
O’Brien Walsh Setterfield
Fisher Curnow Silvagni
Lang Mckay Kennedy

DeKoning Dow Cuningham

Macreadie Polson Deluca

Have a go at putting together a crows 23 and under team who have played AFL, I dare you

Not a bad trade for Carlton now, but gee there was some talent taken around Stocker.
He was a first year player this year. Why does everyone on Bigfooty rush to make conclusions about young players?

He played a few games and showed his skills and footy IQ are up to it. He needs fitness and some time.

No two players develop at the same rate. There are plenty examples of players looking great early and ending up behind a number of others. Two years ago everyone was creaming themselves over Sam Powell-Pepper and what a midfield pick he was. Wouldn’t even be a top 3 mid in his draft class now.

Wow theres some big time overrating going on here.

Setterfield is a gun? He wouldnt be in the top 200 players in the comp.
Marchbank gun? Hes a handy KPD but far from gun.
Kennedy has looked best as a mid sized forward. Has looked awful as a midfielder.

If all those players were that good you'd be a lot better off than you are as a club.

Care to point out where I reached a conclusion about Stocker in the post you quoted?

Just on the bolded bit...did I? Think your jumping at shadow there champ. Pretty sure all I asked you to do (which you just ignore or discount because your argument falls over) was to put Carlton's drafting of recent years into perspective relative to Adelaide's given the extra draft capital your club had. Have you added more talent, of course you have, where have i argued you didn't?

As far as "I decided to cut right to the chase to show the players he brought in that had nothing to do with Carlton’s draft position" well now your just embarrassing yourself....nothing to do with the, what 4 top 6 draft picks in the last 4 years? According to you SOS would have got Sam Walsh with a 3rd rounder right?

But to have pop shots at others when the main reason for your relative successful drafting in recent times is the abysmal drafting performance your own club put in the previous four years is just weak. You strike me as the sort of guy that when when he wasn't very good would vote for not keeping score and handing out participation ribbons but when you won a game or two you'd be launching a fund me site to install a jumbo tron on your local footy ground.

As far as the "grave dancing" last time I looked, as trash as we have been been this year, your club still finished the season buried below us.
Your mob are a basket case on and off the field ..multiple players wanting out ..a lame captain standing down ...the crows future looks very bleak going forward

Carlton have taken the long route to rebuilding but kudos to the end result they have got themselves to thus far.

Obviously still a long way to go to battle for a flag but the building blocks are in place for the Blues to launch up the ladder.

Yup. But the cost should be acknowledged.

Would take C Curnow over Dunkley.

Carlton gave Doggies two second round draft picks for a first rounder, which was used to secure Curnow.

Agree that some of SOS’s other picks and trades still need to play out (as with any list manager), but on the whole he’s done very well and built a talented list from next to nothing. Carlton list was a shambles when Malthouse left. Not much trade currency.
