They were always going to go in hard on whoever did this first, and stupidly it was a Carlton player. Not just a Carlton player, the high profile new recruit. It was always going to be the biggest thing they'd talk about, it has all the ingredients. New player on big money, a big club, jumping off the ground to hit someone in the head. It deserves a week in todays footy and Zac should count himself lucky that he wasn't concussed, because if he was he's probably missing 2 or 3 weeks.

Don't take this as anti-Carlton rhetoric.

Williams and Carlton extremely lucky. We should be rapt with one week. If any AFL player does that during the season l would expect a 3 to 4 week suspension.

As soon as your feet leave the ground to bump and you make high contact, you are in trouble. No excuses.

"Dow, the 21-year-old who burst onto the scene in his first two seasons before drastically losing confidence and finding himself in the reserves in 2020."

Injury played no part at all...

Wouldn't say he burst on the scene either, lots of people said he had been underwhelming.

All-round bad journalism.

... I don't know if 'burst onto the scene' is correct either, but underwhelming is not the word I'd have chosen for his first two seasons, either. Promising would've been where I was going with it.

Aside from last year, he was nigh replicating Adam Cooney's stats and trajectory with his first two seasons.
