If its rebuild, play more kids it seriously could not be any worse than what was on display tonight,at least Watson and Bootsma gave there best, maybe some of the reserves are not up to AFL standard but i would argue some of the seniors clearly are not.

Just because some of us post too much - we forget about those who are mostly readers and rarely post. Noticed a JOINED 2002 making his 63rd ever post tonight - so let's listen when they post :thumbsu:

Fair enough five, but some folk ony post/flock here when we loose....
Not even fair weather supporters

Mate you know how things work ;)

Besides i was just having abit of a giggle at how stiff he was to barrack for carlton and his missus for Essendon.......bad night in the household.

Still a bit of room for a laugh isn't there?

Always room for a laugh.

Although tonight it's the old 'if i don't laugh I'll cry' scenario...

edit: Why was crackers banzhammered?

Most just want a place to share their frustration during times like this.

And a lot just can't crack the "clique".

Back on the game... Our gameplan is entirely reactive. Sit a kick behind play tonight for port and you'd get 60 touches.

In our first three games our in close hands were amazing... Now there's just no direction to anything.

My biggest gripe on our performance tonight was that we were trying to play dry weather footy on a wet evening. Flicking handballs around and dinky little passes which just never came off.
Unfortunately we have reached a tipping point with our injuries as well.
When 4 of your back 6 are Watson, Boots, Bower and Joseph you are going to struggle. Even the likes of Davies and White would be ahead of those players but alas they are also injured.
Boots is a good young kid but he is being thrown to the wolves at a such an early stage in his development.
Playing a ruckman at full forward is also not going to win you many games especially when that player probably averages only a half dozen disposals per game and struggles desperately to hold a mark.

Our depth is at breaking point and until we start getting players back don't be surprised if you see another result like this in the next couple of games.

Deplorable effort.

Something stinks big time at the club. Someone has to pay for that effort. Will be considering the value in watching games in the future. Why am I wasting my time with this rubbish.

If Bower is playing in our team ever again, I will not be watching. It was clear a month ago he was rubbish. Play a man down if there is no one to come in. Empty space would be more useful.

I don't know that I go along with there being a clique that puts people off - there are definitley like minded groups. The KEY is having THICK SKIN :)

Cant agree more A111, all night I thought we'd better with 21 players, he's an absolute liability.

Feel better now I;ve got that out

That was a frigging woeful effort tonight.

Can't recall one instance where a Carlton bloke backed up his mate in a contest,

Bogshite.

You were spot on about the slippery conditons Numbers - lucky I did not totally believe you or else I might have taken some of the <40 pts for both teams and then I would have been Bogshite

Was a pretty embarrassing effort by some of the boys tonight... Atm i'm not looking forward to going to the eagles game in 2 weeks... :S

We can pull it back together though, we just need to learn from our tactical mistakes... which hopefully we can... We need Lifts from players like Simpson, Curnow and Judd. We couldn't seem to get clean hands on the ball at all tonight! (I know it was slippery but still..)

Did make me laugh.

The way I look at it, there is next to no chance Bower will play in a premiership team. He is getting a go at the moment because of injuries, but we need to cut our losses on this one asap.

Got the Jay Schulz first goal right as well.

Man, we were goddawful tonight, didn't fire a shot after 15 minutes.

We are getting blown out of the water before half-time, that ain't good.

Bad enough we had no forward line structure and were completely beaten for the hard ball (yet again in recent times.) Why on earth was bower played as a forward? And why on earth at the start of the third quarter when we needed some physicality and hardness at the ball, our toughest player Robinson starts at full forward. The logic of these two moves escapes me. I don't know what's going on at the club at the moment but the whole thing is a disaster.

Would have thought the last month or so has shown we are incapable of doing this at the moment...

Lucas should be a permanent name on the team sheet until Murphy returns. Why waste our first pick on another midfielder if we aren't going to give him game time.

Because he's soft as piss, much like many of the players playing tonight (see: GWS game where he'd rather tap the ball to players rather than pick it up and feel body contact). We're playing players out of necessity rather than merit due to injuries and terrible depth.

The following players need to be taken aside and told that, if they don't lift, they are likely gone at the end of the year:

- Curnow
- Joseph
- Bower
- Russell
- Collins
- Davies
- Kerr
- O'Keeffe
- White
- Casboult

As far as I'm concerned they are dead wood. Some provide depth, but their output when required isn't good enough. The majority of them don't look like they want an AFL career, so why give them one?

Load up on kids. They'll give as much effort as the above if required.
