I’ve listened to some of these but want to do more. They’re very good. Apparently they’re going to do one about James Hird.

Absolutely.

On that, I listened to the Black Widow one this morning. Wow that one was crazy. It's so easy in hindsight but it's incredible no one questioned her before she essentially dobbed herself in (inadvertently). Worth a listen.

If you are relatively new to them. I strongly recommend the Sherri Rasmussen one. Having listened to them all, I think that is the best.

Yeah I was suspicious when the Narrator was saying how 'delicious' the meals were that she was making ....
Yep. It was the one constant in the death of 4 or 5 people. Boggles the mind they never connected the dots.

Don't think she'd have got away with it today. Can't have 4+ people die under your watch without some serious suspicions being raised.

Amazing that she's still alive. Presumably she'll never receive the lethal injection she deserves.

Have just listened to a couple of these. The Frankston Murders, as I lived right where those crimes were committed and I was 21 or 22 at the time and remember the vibe vividly. Ive read the book years ago but it still freaks me out that this Denyer person could be so cold. It was interesting to hear more recent stuff after so many years and how he now identifies as a woman, yet when asked by Police why he did the things he did it was just because he hated them(women I presumed). Yet later he indetifies as one.

So was his problem he was born a man and resented women because he couldnt be one, or is it far, far more complex than that?

The other I listened too was the John Newman from Cabramatta one. Sounded like a good man.

I enjoyed Tina Watson too. Can't believe he's a free man.

Really? It was a while ago that I listened to it but i thought that much and all as he was pretty piss weak in letting his misses go (literally and figuratively) so easily, his actions fell a long way short of criminal. I think a lot of the issue was misplaced anger from her family that clearly hated his guts from the getgo anyway.

Might have to listen again and see if i can pick anything else up.

Started listening to this over the Christmas break. Have got through Wanda Beach, The Somerton Man and Snowtown. All three were excellent. Walsh Street is next, then probably John Newman.

Just listened to Elodie Morel. Worth a listen, amazing story. The reaction of the two women after the police arrive was amazing and the coincidence with the road block incredible.
I found that one interesting too. By coincidence I visited Aigues-Morte just a few weeks ago and know the surrounding area well.

The first ones, although interesting are a bit raw. I'd recommend listening to a case that you remember or are really interested in first and then jump around between new and old eps.

agree on this. I could see why someone might listen to the first couple and think it is a bit 'meh' ...

but after a few eps, the narrator quickly refines his craft and the production and music works perfectly and they are enthralling.

Yeah, this was definitely one where I would have been very surprised if he had been convicted of murder. There seemed to be little to no motive, something about life insurance ... but it wasnt a big amount of money if I recall. And it was an incredibly elaborate way to murder someone if it was something he did deliberately.

Its a really interesting episode though.

Snowtown was an interesting listen, had no idea just how bad the atrocities were.

Katherine Knight was also pretty good.

Casefile podcasts are great, so far I've avoided these two because I'm not sure I could stomach them most particularly Snowtown. Tried to get through the movie three times without fast forwarding through great big chunks of it but gave up. I don't support the death penalty but if any deserve it that lot do.

The hardest part about listening to the Snowtown one has nothing to do with the murders, that's how full on it is.

Tried last night, I didn't make it past hearing Bunting did a welding course and he tortured a dog that was annoying him with the torch to putting a hole right through it. I nearly threw up. WTF is wrong with people that he wasn't pulled up long before he started putting them in barrells?
