Not just the monologues, some of the back-and-forth about the evils of the Empire and why it's important to resist them was fantastic.
The ISB scenes are really sharp too and unlike anything we've scene before

The force is not magic. It’s not like a Marvel superpower either. Although if you watch the sequel trilogy it is definitely getting closer to these ideas. The force is like a spiritual energy that is tapped into when negative emotions and thoughts are overcome. It should and needs to take time to develop. It took Luke over three years work and a desperate life threatening situation just to get a light sabre out of the snow. Now we have people who are still full of fear and worry pull spaceships out of the sky with one week’s understanding of the ‘force’.

The explanation of the Force comes back to 'midi-chlorians'. They are microscopic life forms present within the cells of all living organisms, forming a symbiotic relationship with their hosts. I don't know if this concept was in the original writing or if it was retconned but it's quite scientific. Humans have allsorts of different bits and pieces in our cells that may have originally been separate organisms such as bacteria.

It gets more magical when you are told that these microscopic life forms have some kind of cosmic intelligence. And that they allow certain people to access powers such as being able to move objects with their minds. Thereafter, you get a couple of variations in the explanation.

i) the sensitivity to the force is genetic and some families have it more than others. An individual's potential with the Force depends on their midi-chlorian count and you can do blood tests to detect it.

or

ii) everyone has midi-chlorians. The only difference is that some people are trained.

Another important element is that everyone has good and bad within them. The Force can be used by those with very negative emotions and seduced by the dark side.

Midi chlorians assist with tapping in to the force and can help the untrained be influenced by it, their actions and reactions, but my understanding is that they are not a be all end all to ones potential as a force user.

One still has to train the body and mind to use and control the force. Someone training with a low count will always be more powerful than someone with a high count that has never trained.

I don't think it was a deal breaker, I think to some extent an explanation of why some people are 'gifted' and some aren't, didn't go astray, but it was stupid.

Holy smokes - another link back Rogue One confirmed by Meg.

There's a shot of Cassian with Nemik's audio manifesto strapped to a shoulder in Rogue One. Which means he's been carrying it everywhere since Andor. Frack me - just gut me some more Gilroy! Also, fans of the Mandalorian - some news about the Bell in the bell tower.

I started watching this again.

Maybe I missed this or it was already known - does the centre piece have the same design as the Death Star pieces?

Midichlorians was always a terrible idea, the simple explanation was that the Force permeated all things and some people could manipulate it. No more explanation was ever needed and it didn't lend itself to over-analysis.
One prick of the finger from Qui-gon Jinn essentially destabilises the whole Star Wars universe.
You could have factories where you just milk midi’s.
An outrageous blunder.

Snippet.....

Season 2 footage revealed at the event showed Mon Mothma trying to rally a rebellion. Villain Syril Karn (Kyle Soller) also seems to have a bigger role in the show. Meanwhile, Luna’s Cassian Andor was shown with a new hairdo. Season 2 introduces a number of new characters.

The next season of “Andor” is expected to unfold in a much different format from Season 1. Luna is returning, along with Stellan Skarsgård, Genevieve O’Reilly, Kyle Soller, Adria Arjona, Denise Gough, Faye Marsay and Varada Sethu. But rather than take place over a year, the 12-episode season will take place over four years leading up to right before the events of “Rogue One,” in three-episode pods written and directed by the same team. Each of those pods will encapsulate a successive number of days within one of those years.

People expressing concerns/worries/fears about season 2. In that season was a slow burn and Game of Thrones like in scope, but now that season is going to be 3 episode pods, spanning a few days in a whole year, so rushing thru four years, it will lose that slow burn GoT type quality.

This has been known for ages though.

yeah only general query I have is it going to be something like Witcher and a "quirk" of time skipping that adds to the overall, or it is just going to stick out like dogs balls like the ST taking no time at all did.
