Bringing in players that had already been there previously and failed to impact was hardly going to push them over the top I know it’s in hindsight but they would of been in a much better position now playing their local kids who had played in a colts grand final and prelim in the last 2 years and finishing 6th compared to flying Brock McLean in and playing an injury prone Mcartney and finishing 6th
What colts kids did you want him to blood? He played with 4 or 5 most of the year? Another one played one or two games. Theres no point just playing kids who aren’t ready yet or aren’t up to it. I think you’ll find that woorinen struggled for numbers at times last year, so bringing in travellers was necessary. Hence why they have recruited heavily in local players this year.
I don’t think you can blame Marcus’ team selection for woorinen failing last year.

Hypothetically Trent, if you were to coach, who's list would you want to take control of right now?

One team on winning short term and one for 5 year potential.

The nyah gig would be most appealing next year wouldn't it, they've retained their core list, inner belief is high

I'd think the boga job with a 5 year plan with horse like succession plan would be the most enticing, due to their junior numbers or the raiders

I don’t think it’d matter him too much, it’s a easy gig
An easy gig, cmon mixer.

Not sure I ever said it was an easy gig mate, but there's many ways to skin an orange and I personally would have tried a different way

Come august I could have egg on my face if the raiders are top 3 and I'll wear it and admit I was wrong

Boga is interesting as I said above. More to it than just coaching there. Must need some adjustments off field

I did hear on the grapevine today, although not central murray related, bur it shows how much money is been thrown around by some clubs in the state that Garry rohan is on between 80-90k for the season at Port fairy in the hampden league

I know a club who was heavily into him and they were priced out. This club is usually never priced out

Young Thompson would of played majority of the season but the rest would of been lucky to play 7-8 games from memory.

I just feel they would of been in a better position in 2025/26 playing kids like Taj Bolton who won a colts league b&f than flying in a Brock McLean on big money and finishing 6th anyway.

Sometimes you’ve got to take a step back to take a step forward something Marcus and his team seemed reluctant to do judging from their recruiting last season.

Woorinen seem to be heading down a path with a younger team under Free so will be interesting to see where they end up in 2025

2 colts kids played every game, 1 played 10, Taj 8 and another made his debut. I understand your point mate but no point blooding kids if they aren’t up to it yet. Especially when you are competing for a finals spot the whole second half of the year.
I think next year is looking good for them. Lots of new and returning players and new coach could see a different style of play which might suit there list a bit more. Looking forward to seeing how Tim goes

Another one for Woora.
