The salary cap was abolished with good reason - it is near impossible to administer. Clubs will never declare exact match payments, they will provide figures that fit within the cap but you can bet your balls it's not even close to the mark.

Success is a cyclic phenomonen, money plays a vital part, but if communities are prepared to get off their arse, work hard and generate/donate funds for the football club then who are we to deny them that success.

VET can you confirm or deny the fact that as a club we are $60k in the red and are struggling to pay all our contracted players as we got a little greedy. Can you also confirm that Livo & Kurt will not be returning next year?

I can not deny or confirm the rumour of the 60K deficit, as I do not know. But the rumour is certainly gaining momentum around the traps.

I can however say that Livo and Kurt will not be travelling back to Kerang to continue their tenure as Kerang Blues and Peter Morris back to Wandella. Never the pessimist....but I can see a huge change over of playing stock this off season.
The recruitment committee have it in front of them atm I'd say.

just back from darwin and read an interesting article in their paper saying how nilma darrum a victorian country football club took one of the darwin bookies to the cleaners by getting odds of 33/1 to win the flag early on in the season. They split the winnings between the club and players at the end, with one of rootas mates Jamie Cann Kicking 5 in the gf.
Is there any chance of a lalbert lets say roota say putting half what they pay next season on themselves lets say 25 000 as they would get those odds, going out recruiting with the proviso that the club at the end keeps half with the other half going to the players so that they can recruit strongley and become a force, if they were to put the 25000 on at 33/1 that would roughly equate to 800 000, 400 000 to the club and 400 000 to be divvied amongst the players after a gf win now im sure that would entertain some very good footballers to your club and make recruiting easier. You could provide player payments with other 25000 throughout the year, with the big loot plenty of incentive for players to win the gf
