Well done to Jen and her team.

It will be interesting to see if we can garner any WA sponsorships out of this deal. Maybe a big shorts sponsor. :)

Dome?

So many people in this thread need to make some apologies

Sent from my iPhone using BigFooty.com

Look, I'm sure Jen and Sonja don't expect or even want apologies from people expressing their genuine anxiety about the future direction of the football club, but the lesson for all of us out of this is to pause next time before questioning the personal integrity and honour and dedication of these two women. Even if that wasn't intentional.

Gokangas and chadwiko both had their concerns addressed in the letter from the President, so that was nice 👍

Yup, no complaints from me on the info provided in the official announcement.

Bring on 9 Melbourne home games!

More than us two.

Same. This is significantly better than Hobart just on basic maths. I'm a simple person - I want the maximum amount of actual home games in Melbourne and - outside of wanting to win them - I couldn't care less about non Melbourne home games. I don't plan on supporting them financially by travelling ever. My biggest concern longterm is the dilution of home supporter experience and 4 down to 2 is a big improvement.

If they've managed to wrangle that being the only two games in WA per year that will be impressive, history with the AFL though says that even if they've promised such, their promises aren't necessarily worth what they're written on. Ask Lions supporters about Melbourne games if in any doubt. If we end up playing 2 home & 2 away games in WA during this term and our form starts to turn this could be a genuine lodestone as we look towards finals though. Future us problem, for now 4 games to 2 games away from Melbourne is the big win.

how’s simon Lloyd been the last 2 years?

He just missed on getting this role against Jen
He's making some big moves (jokes). Left Cats as GM of Commercial Ops mid 2024 and now CEO of Phillips coaching.
Never heard of them, some sort of athlete mentor pathway business. Cats went back to Hocking as CEO didn't they?
They could have just promoted Llyod if he was good, but based on Cats board it sounds like a good mate of Chris Scott's, so perhaps he wouldn't be able to reign the coach in. Certainly an interesting sliding door moment.

It fell in her lap - wa sides complaining about to much travel and us exiting tas was just luck.
True but that doesn’t mean other clubs weren’t looking/interested.

Imagine a St Kilda or Hawthorn got in first to orchestrate a deal. It would have been Bulldogs re Ballarat all over again.

Jen and the team deserve credit for being on the ball and getting this done.
