Thoughts on 8 & 17 for Cerra & Dockers R1 (currently 11).

Head to draft with 11 25 27 41 & 45

If they are the picks we end up with i would be fine with that

Just 1 pick in the 1st round is fine but anything more is just crazy , He is a very good young player but far from a star or a game changer
as mentioned above Brayshaw was the player that destroyed our midfield and without his hard work Cerra would have had a very very different game

Brayshaw playing for Richmnd we probably would have had our outside players having that impact

That won't get the deal done. Values him as a pick in the teens.

I just think we trade out everyone that has Ralph Carr as an agent lol

Dusty to Gold Coast for Touk and their pick 5

Pick 5 and Bolton to Fremantle for Cerra and Brayshaw

Sign CCJ and let Chol go do his Cameos somewhere else

Take all our draft picks to the draft, with our midfield issues solved.

Great working with you Ralph;)

We can't contend next year just adding Cerra. Our A graders are now too old and are no longer A graders. Cotchin can barely run, Riewoldt is patchy, Edwards is off the pace, as well as Astbury and Houli a shadow of their former selves.

To think that adding Cerra and some draft picks will do it you have another thing coming. We would need Cerra, De Goey, and a KPF. Not sold on Cerra and would need to keep all our draft picks in my mind. The rebuild is coming. It's going to come like a freight train.

The club loves Ralph. He squeezes everything he can out of us during contract negotiations for sure but money is not the be-all and end-all for him. He knows when we're the best fit for his clients.

You would be adding Cerra because he is 22. He is only a few years older that the kids we will draft, has 70 games under his belt & looks to clearly be a good to great player. We have a massive hole in our list at players around that age group as we only took 2 picks last year and lost Higgo, Butler etc. He also looks to be really durable, minimal injury issues from what i have seen. His body looks like ti will survive AFL footy.

No one is thinking if we add Cerra that next year we are the Kings again -Cerra is likely a 10 year, 200 game player for us if we get him now.

CCJ + pick 18 is as about as good as I’d do

no Interest if it’s for the early first round pick.

Cerra not really a match winner in my eyes and not really a contested ball magnet. Bit of a tweener.

I'd likely do that too, would maybe want a sweetner our way in a pick swap with a few later picks

33 touches, 11 contested, 9 inside 50s, 8 marks, 7 score involvements, 6 tackles and 730m gained against us.

Yep .. while I'm never a fan of basing opinions on one game or even a handful, but the type of stats there by Cerra that would have plenty on this board anointing their next champion if it was say Jack Graham, Jack Ross, Marlion Pickett, Sydney Stack, Patrick Naish, Dean Polo ... you get the picture.

Yep. Even if you could get him for that, a first rounder and our best developing KPF he comes with a fat salary which nobody here seems to want to put a figure on. He's knocking back $750k x 4y reportedly if he comes home. I doubt he comes to us for anything under $600-650k x 4/5. Minimum.

With our current form and his, that price is only going up.

I've said before with no offence to the kid himself that he is a potential culture killer. We've built a culture on solid players playing for peanuts for a common goal. Lambert, Edwards, Vlaustin, Astbury, Bachar, even Short (a premiership best and fairest) just a couple of examples of very good B+ players with great careers never got near $650k x 5 at age 21. Or ever.

That sort of deal is reserved for the best possible talents at that age. Hello Shai Bolton. Hello Andrew Brayshaw. High ceiling players. Sam Walsh is a another level again. These guys are future Brownlow Medalists. I don't believe Cerra is at their level.

If the cliff is indeed approaching (not convinced this team fully fit with a strong full preseason, tweaked game style and a friendly draw doesn't have at least one more in them with Dusty still in his prime), then we need to hit the draft by trading up our 6 inside 50 picks to 3/4 good picks inside 25 including two top quality picks.

We either stored all these picks to smash the draft or go after some targets and it's the ace in our hand right now. If Cerra wasn't so over priced pick wise and salary wise then he'd be a luxury pick up sure but we need Tom Green more than we need Cerra. He does everything that Cerra does and more, and is a big midfielder with grunt.

We're getting killed around the ball, it's pretty obvious we need muscle inside to compliment Prestia and create time and space to release Shai. All the early 20s midfield role players are already at the club, Graham, RCD (hit the gym kid or become a winger) Naish (get him nearer the goals), Ross, Dow, Martyn, Cumberland and Ralph Smith are the nucleus of the next gen. Surround them with elite young talent over the next two drafts.

The AFL is full of examples right in front of our faces Lions, Hawks, Eagles who traded mature players in at the cost of good early drafting to stay up.

IF we do go hard for someone, try to shake Green free for less probably than Cerra, particularly if Josh Kelly re-signs on the big bucks crazy option he has, which I believe he will.

Finally, Cerra is playing decent footy at Freo and works well with Brayshaw and Serong. They have chemistry as a unit and I just don't see how he fits in at Richmond. I doubt he leaves.

Personally i love the kid but I just cant see us getting him with out it costing us. Freo always play hard ball on all their players they will want both our first round picks, that isn't going to happen. I say we offer up a first rounder I dont mind if its our pick 8, Geelong's pick alone wont get it done. Freo will want more than pick 8 but i say we just hold firm, if he really wants to come home then pick 8 it is.

Best case is we pick up Cerra and still have a 1st rounder (most likely Geelong's).
Worst case is we still have 2 first rounders

Cerra- 1st rnd pick+ No thanks.
Parker as a free agent- yes yes yes

Just cause he would cost a first round pick why is it a no thanks ?

Former pick 5 with all the training gone into him by Freo to this date !

Sometimes I think some overate draft picks , how many 1st round draft picks don’t turn out that flash anyway.

We have 2 of them atm & maybe another late one if CCJ chose to leave !

I’m not saying a definite yes , but I’m more willing to wait to see what our picks are first !

It’s not like he is 28 , he has years of footy in front of him
