When the game was up for grabs in the last quarter Cerra had 11 disposals @ 82% DE with 7 contested possessions 3 turnovers 4 intercepts 2 marks 2 clearances & 2 tackles.

Across the whole game he had
33 disposals (ranked 2nd)
8 marks (ranked 2nd)
6 tackles (ranked 2nd)
11 contested possessions (ranked 5th)
7 turnovers (ranked 2nd)
7 intercepts (ranked =4th)
7 score involvements (ranked 6th)
21 pressure acts (ranked 11th)
3 clearances (ranked 6th)
9 I50 (ranked 1st)
4 R50 (ranked =7th)
735m gained (ranked 3rd)

That is an all around game in anyones book and exactly the type of player that we need to add to our midfield unit. I know many have said that we need a contested bull, but I believe we have them in the likes of RCD Dow & Martyn. Martyn & Dow in particular, have shown that you don't have to be 190cm/89kg beasts to be able to win clearances, you need to know where to be at right time to win the contest. Sure they might not impact in 2022, but we've got coverage there for the next 1-2 years while those younger guys continue to develop.
The last couple weeks have shown he’s definitely capable of being a centre square starting mid. He’s been pushed out onto a wing a fair bit this year because he’s the mid most capable of playing that position for them. Think they tried Serong out there earlier in the year and it was a bit of a failure due to his big drop in productivity.

This kid is gonna be the Dion Prestia debate all over again isn’t he?
Not even close.
Dion was a gun from day dot and we knew that. Had a few injuries but was always an A grader.
Cerra might be but hasn’t shown enough for me.
We need a Tom Greene or Taranto. Cerra is to outside for us.

To be honest CB I don't watch enough Freo games to know how good Cerra really is. I'm sure the kid can play but like anything in sport you don't really know for sure until the club takes a plunge. I look at Nank when we got him from the Swans. Never in a million years did I think we would get such a good player, a beast...🤩

That's what I'm thinking but who knows for sure?

He’s a reasonable inside player. But will be elite close to stoppages. If we can get him as the first handball out of a stoppage we might start taking some marks in the front half.

As for mentioning RCD, that was in relation to people saying we're better off going after Green, who I don't believe is the type we need to target, because we've got the likes of RCD Dow & Martyn who I believe will be more than serviceable as ball winning midfielders.

Are you actually saying you would prefer Adam Cerra to Tom Green as a better fit for Richmond ???

I said earlier in this thread if we could swap our 2 firsts for Cerra and Fremantles first then I'd be happy with the deal. We get someone who immediately upgrades our midfield unit and can also take best available kid at pick 10 or so in the draft as well plus 2 other picks inside the top 30. Can't really go wrong from there.

Freo supporters are wanting 2 1st rounders for him and your talking about taking their 1st ?

I don’t think you really remember the Prestia debate on this board. It was a very divisive topic. Pick 6 was overs according to many, many posters.
This kid/discussion is headed down the same path.

Trust the club. We know **** all in reality.

I clearly remember it mate. I couldn’t believe people thought pick 6 was overs for him. I’d do it again in a heartbeat.

Cerra had 33 touches going at 63% with 8 clangers = Star
Stack had 25 touched going at 96% with 0 Clangers = nothing to see here

I know which player i would rate better in this game

I think all the freo supporters are surprised Cerra played well
Stack playing HBF which is the easiest position in the game to play to get easy touches where Cerra is playing Mid and the going average rate for disposal efficiency for a mid is closer to 65%~70% per game.
So don’t get caught up in easy half back stats.

Why is Stack vs Cerra even a thing? They are totally different players.

It's the debate. So when Prestia was discussed, the board was split, some rated, some didn't, some wanted but didn't want to part with pick 6 as it was overs. This discussion is headed down that path.

What I prefer and what I believe the list needs are, are 2 different things.

The same Fremantle supporters whonwere surprised he played well also want 2 first round picks for him .

As for what supporters want, there are supporters on here want GC pick 4 for CCJ and 3 first round picks if Bolton left.

What supporters want and what actually happens are often that far apart it's laughable.

Yep.
Unless he gets 50+ disposals per game he'd be a dud.

I reckon his credentials stack up equally as well as Taranto , you’re not being objective there

Nank is a lot cheaper than the price being floated for Cerra.

I will take Cerra for Nanks price we got him for to

You talkin bout me?

I have said CCJ for GC's first, but we give back our first at least.

And I did say 2 firsts for Bolton. 3 is a just a bit rich - although Carlton would probably pay it. And if he was 10 years older the cats would in a heartbeat.
