You are like a broken record

And you don’t seem to get it.

Repeat after me.

Dangerfield.
Who is.
better.player.
only went.
For.
Pick9.and 28.

Keep dreaming about two firsts. Although I did say our future first and hawks first. That’s more than enough.

Problem with freo fans is they overpaid for Bolton and now are looking for justification that it was a right thing to do.

Good God!

Chad is Out of Contract.

If he chooses West Coast, West Coast can only trade what they have.

Same goes for Fremantle.

Fremantle may only have their first rounder and a future first rounder which may equate to pick 16 (2025) and 17 (2026).

And if thats the case, thats all they can offer. Sydney have to take it otherwise they get nothing and he goes to the draft.

Players always get to the club they want to get to.

Depends on where the firsts are ?

By that logic we could trade pick 3 for 2 later firsts and get warner and a 2nd ?

Dunkley at age 26 went for 21 + f1 + f2 for dunkley + 2x f3s .

I would think if you had #3 and did the Carlton tactic of "that's not on the table" then traded it for #7 and #10 somehow that you hand them to Sydney for Warner and a 2nd.

They didn't over pay for Bolton

2 mid first rounders 10 + 11 for Bolton + 4 pick upgrade from 18 to 14 + f3 (37) .

Bolton was contracted so they had to pay over market value.

I feel it's a similar worth for chad warner

It can happen pick 14 was supposed to be part of the barrass trade and hawks traded it to get more capital.

Then said too bad this is all we have now

We could have said no and kept barrass but he is cooked so we were pretty happy to off load him

He's not cooked. You just made that up.

I think the best example is St Kilda turning their pick #6 in 2019 first into:
#12 & #18 from GWS
then
#10 Howard and Ryder from Port for Pick #12 & #18
then
#10 for Brad Hill

Effectively #6 for Hill, Howard, Ryder

Things work out they do over time but that's not bad dealing if you can get away with it.

Yep unfortunately he is in some ways and almost in other ways .

His back injury from when Jack rewaldt tunnelled him is permanent and is just managed . He has hamstring issues which stem from this back injury

He won't be able to do a proper pre season again always modified to get him in ok shape.

He is also had close to the most concussions as a current player .

He sat out the last part of the season due to concussion being worse than expected

Dangerfield 9 and 28.

Neale was pick 6 and 19 but was in contract.

Get used to that the very big players on very big salaries don’t go for very very expensive picks. Because then you have to justify to player paying them less and making them unhappy.
Will you be saying the same thing when Harley wants to go home in 18 months time???

I like this call

Nope its will be picks 1, 2 and 3 with a fifth round pick coming back.
Harley will command a pick in the range of 10-15 on top of whatever Warners value is.

So if West Coast fans think a couple of mid firsts do the job to get the Chad, then Harley will net them three mid firsts.

Personally I think West Coast will pony up and their two firsts this year will form the centrepiece of the deal to bring Warner across. Matty Clarke has history of getting a player to commit then ponying up to ensure he can satisfy the club they are leaving. Sydney and Warner will have taken notice on his work with Baker last year to ensure the deal gets done.

And West Coast will then rightly demand even more than this when Reid announces his departure a year later.

AFL trade prices are way too variant to try to use 1 example as an unbreakable precedent, especially when it happened a decade ago. Danger got traded for 9 and 28 in 2015. But then Charlie Dixon gets traded for essentially 10 + F2, so I guess basically Dixon = Danger (pause). But then Treloar gets traded for 7 + F1 with pick 28 going the other way, so Treloar > Danger. But then Carlisle and pick 14 gets traded for picks 5 and 24, so I guess Carlisle is closer to Danger than we thought.

And I haven't even gone past 2015 there, so we got some all timers to come. Bryce Gibbs, Lachie Weller, Jared Polec, Jesse Hogan, Dylan Shiel, Dayne Beams, Tim Kelly, etc.

I think just about the only thing we can be certain about if a Chad Warner trade happens is that fans will complain about how little clubs use players being OOC as leverage. There are teams that leave trades to the last second to squeeze every bit of value out. Freo and West Coast generally aren't 2 of those teams. Beyond that, I'll leave debating who gets the future 4th to others.

Then we have a player like Cerra for pick #6 ? or was it #7

Im sure we are all jumping at taking Warner with a pick #3
or maybe we look at Saad trade and value Warner against him

Warner is a top 3 pick every day of the week and Swans are known to be hard asses at the trade table and wont be falling for them tricks. Eagles will pay and pay well
