Still pinching myself ports are 3rd with only 2 rounds to go..

If we manage to knock freo off and finish 2nd then:

We should win our last 2, but if we have a hiccup against freo, i reckon we can still finish second with 1 win.

Sydney will beat melb in the buddy farewell game and saints will be playing for their life against brisbane in round 24.

Boak in for Evans seems like a no brainer.

The question mark for me is Lord. I remember being surprised with him early days when he played, particularly the Melbourne game but in his more recent games he has dropped off massively. Structurally it makes sense picking him but besides that first goal he really offered bugger all. I understnad the tall stocks are pretty much dry but would we lose much picking another small or medium player in his place?

No brainer? In 344 games Boak has kicked 4 goals on 1 occassion, in his 11th season. Evans achieved this feat in his 14th AFL game. Clearly Frank is the better option.

Fast deck, our mids getting first hands on the ball. If Hayes is good then only change I would make would be Mc out Narkle in.

I feel like this game is key, freo are in decent form, a win on the road against them could really springboard us in to finals. And i'm expecting Collingwood to win on friday night to make this one more significant for us.

Same for GWS yesterday
How we can be paying 2 teams for the 1st time this season in the last 3 rounds is just crazy
The worst part of all of this is that both teams were playing really poorly earlier in the season. They've finally hit peak form and we get to play them now...

Bring in Fantasia and just lay his dead body in the goalsquare. Imagine if a ball was bouncing towards goal and hit his foot and went in, he could be the first dead man to kick a goal in VFL/AFL history.
Probably break a bone when the ball hits his leg

Structure is too important to move away from him. He occupies a tall defender. If he goes out, opposition can have a free man jumping across Marshall/Finlayson.

I thought Lord presented and competed ok. Not the best performance, but considering we have no other option, happy to keep him in.

I mean one is a dedicated small forward, and the other is a bona fide midfielder. Strange comparison.

Even when Boak was pushed forward, it was more as a half forward.

Aliir Aliir has never kicked 4 goals in a game, maybe we bring Trav in for him instead?
