Bullshit Mon - I always value and respect your opinion but it's time to put on the bifocals. He did a DECENT job as a defensive forward on Hind. Far worst from yesterdays performance.

Agree to disagree.

In: Naitanui, SPS/Winder, Hedwards
Out: Jamieson, Petruccelle, Rotham

Jamieson flagging, he’s had a good run but time to head back to the WAFL.

Petch was pretty awful, the other guys can audition for his spot tonight.

Rotham got better as the game went on but the height of Wright was a clear concern because Barrass is just giving up too many cms. Think we need Edwards in as an option to switch onto Lynch if that happens again.

Don’t risk Sheed.

SPS did nothing today to earn a recall.

Can’t see NN play after months off - and at the back of his career. One WAFL game on ‘managed minutes’ isn’t enough. No hurry.
I like Jamo but his form is dipping quickly. While I don't rate Bailey he is showing some improvement and more than happy to see him shoulder most of the ruck while NN gets back to form/fitness

Even at less than 100% Naitanui offers more than either Jamieson or Williams. I think you could toss a coin for which of the two comes out but I’d be leaning towards Jamieson

Edwards should come in for either Rotham or Bazzo, preferably Rotham

Petruccelle had a quiet game disposal wise but I thought he did just enough providing defensive pressure in our front half to get another game. Maybe Winder to replace him

The perpetual question of whether JK needs a rest will come up but hopefully he’s good to go. If he isn’t, I’m definitely retaining Williams to ruck with Nic and bringing Winder in to replace JK as the extra runner against Richmond would be handy

I’m guessing but I feel Gaff is playing sore. Bring in either Naish, Clark or O’Neill to replace him if necessary

I’d like to see NN in for Jamieson and that’s all.

Duggan has been played sore all year, Gaff is clearly labouring and even kicking 5 goals, Kennedy still looked 90% busted.

Finally, our WAFL team is providing valuable development for our younger players. I think we should keep that going for the next few weeks at least.

Let players like Edwards dominate for a few weeks in a row so they are brimming with confidence and touch when they get recalled.

I love West, but I can’t really see a long term AFL career for him. That said, he’s living up to his end of the bargain, so keep him in the team and let XON keep getting 25+ touches in the WAFL midfield. He’ll benefit a lot more from that than looking like a headless chook across HF in the AFL.

If we can end this season with the AFL team being competitive, may be pinching a couple of wins and our youngsters dominating at WAFL, that would be a great way to head into the off-season.

Not sold on Petch's game being as bad as people are making out. Quiet on the stats sheet but I counted around 3 instances where his pressure on the HF line directly led to a turnover, followed by a score.
I think the knock on Petch is that he has an asset, his speed, which he doesn't use often enough effectively or creatively. This is why he was brought into AFL, but seems to lack a natural feel for the game (which may be understandable given his background). He's had some stand out moments and games when it all comes together, but it's not consistent enough. He might be doing his role defensively, but that's arguably only half the task completed. Would love to see him put it all together consistently. Do you back him in to keep building experience and how long does that take? (at the expense of another player)

Tigers over there is a tough gig. Expecting an honourable loss, unless we have actually turned a corner re coaching and team confidence/ability/synergy.

Jamo has been impressive but was a non event v the Bombers.
Hard to ignore Edwards after that WAFL game and Rotham didn't do much
Gaff looked like he was playing injured, O'Neill could fit in here too but 1 WAFL game after a long lay off probably isn't enough to get him back in the seniors.
Petch to get another chance

Hurn Barrass Duggan
Jones Edwards Yeo
West Kelly Hough
Cripps Darling Rioli
Ryan Kennedy Waterman

Naitanui, Shuey, Redden

Bazzo, Williams, Clark, Petruccelle

Spot on. He’s 23, so he’s not going to become the next Judd or Peter Matera. So what’s his eventual top level going to look like? Is he already as good as he’s going to get?

He was the toast of the preseason, so I was very excited to see what he’d produce in 2022, but again he was struck down by injury.

Hopefully, he gets an injury-free season and we can finally find out.
