Changes for the Pies

We should be trying out players for next year and the seasons ahead. Finals are now an impossibility. Bring in Carlisle to play the Gumby role and bring in Myers to replace Lonergan's clearance work. Also have a look at bringing in Jetta and Muscles.

If Myers can't get a game this week then obviously there's a deeper issue. He's in the best every week which would indicate that he's doing what is asked from him.

One of the more confusing attempts to stall a career I can recall.

Thanks Ignighter.

I would like very little changes, only those that are forced. Make the players who put in that performance against Carlton atone. I don't like to see wholesale changes after one poor loss, remember the two weeks before were wins against finals contenders. Make wholesale changes next week if the effort is not there this week. I don't expect to beat Collingwood but the effort must be a lot better.

Out: Davey
In: Jetta

The changes we make should be based on improving the structure and hence team, whether that's one change or eleven changes doesn't matter.

So with that said, Jetta in for Davey - obviously. Slattery in so to release Hocking elsewhere - I know everyone hates him, but that's another obvious structure change. Hocking is no good at back-pocket. He is good elsewhere. Slattery isn't bad at back-pocket. Everyone's a winner.

If Carlise has the fitness to run out a game at CHF, he's another in for the structure. If not we may have to bring in Bellchambers and play Paddy at CHF or something. Either way we need a proper CHF

Someone can find two players to take out.

If Lonergan goes, Myers comes in. Structure.

Hille and Lonergan just got off the MRP. I'd stick with forced changes and give the players an opportunity to make up for the loss.

Out: Davey (Inj)
In: Jetta

I dont agree with this rubbish about leaving the team settled and letting them fight for retibution. Im sorry if you get pumped by 70+ points against a fairly oridinary carlton outfit you lose that right. Im not saying wholesale changes like we have seen several times this year but there should be at least 3 changes this week. Davey is an obvious one and 2 other lower performing players should face the chop. It does not send a good message to players busting their gut at Bendigo to earn a recall and these guys should be rewarded. A guy like David Myers has had his name mentioned in the bests after most Bendigo games this year and should be rewarded for taking his emission from the senior team well and working on his game hard in the VFL.
It is expected to have minimal changes if any after a win but not after an embarrasing performance like we saw on Friday night, lets give other players a chance to perform under the bright lights against the top ranked side.

In: Slattery, Carlisle, Myers
Out: Davey plus 2 others that aren't Houli

Just want to see Carlisle, Myers and Houli in the last 3 weeks.

F Jetta Neagle Monfries
R: Ryder Hocking Howlett

I think we should make minimal changes.
Davey is a definite out, Winderlich is a maybe, the only omission I'd make would be Reimers as he could use a wake up call.

Henry Slattery would be a good idea because Hocking is not a back pocket, Jetta is an obvious replacement for Davey and I'm still not opposed to bringing in Carlisle for some experience/team stucture.

As for Prismall and Houli, I see them as trade bait so they may as well play the rest of the season.

Out: Davey, Reimers, Winderlich*
In: H.Slattery, Carlisle, Jetta*

Almost agree BTG, but I'd prefer Reimers to stay in. We desperately need aggression against the Pies and on the dark day that was ANZAC day 2010 he was clearly in our best few.
I also think that given Houli's contract status we'll probably be seeing him until the end of the year.

IN: Carlisle, Myers, Jetta, H Slattery
OUT: Davey (inj), Winderlich (inj), Lonergan, Hocking

B: McVeigh - Hooker - H. Slattery

Been thinking more about the team in the last 24hrs.

Still think we operate better with 7 talls.

I would either bring in Carlisle to play the gumbleton role or bring in T.Slattery to play as the third tall in defence.

If we do this

Hurley vs Cloke
Fletcher vs Dawes
T.Slattery vs resting ruckman

T.Slattery and Fletcher can rotate if needed.

I would play Hooker as CHF - Was originally a forward, has a good tank, good mark, can read the play as a forward.

This can help the forward line is 4 ways

1) Releases Monfries to play more in the forward 50
2) Neagle to spend more time at FF
3) Hille/Ryder perform better up forward when they are the third tall
4) Isolate Maxwell - Dont rate him as a one on one defender - Thought he struggled at times against Mooney.

I wouldn't play Hooker up forward, simply because he always chooses to spoil instead of mark, sometimes even when he's unopposed.

I believe Collingwood may rest a few players,so i have a feeling that this could be a big danger game for us.

With everthing that has happened to the Bombers lately i believe the Bombers will come out breathing fire this week.

Lets not forget that the Bombers this year, have beaten a few top sides.

So the stage could set for an upset this week.

Also depends psycologically which collingwood side turns up.All i will say is they better not take the bombers lightly.

After all that Pies by 15 points.(If we are switched on)

Hey bombers fans. Looking forward to this Friday night. I reckon you're in with a shot .. you will bounce back after a humiliating loss and we are sore and tired after taking down the cats.

What do you reckon? Don't be too pessimistic!

When all is said and done though a victory won't change too much. Funny how the media can blow upset wins out of proportion.

He'd play on from every mark.

Would be happy for Hooker to play on from every mark - his role would entail him doing a lot of work outside 50 in the Gumby Role.

It would be counter-productive if Hooker didn't play on as often as possible.

Not prepared to cut Houli a weeks slack? Was pretty handy against the Saints in his first game back then had a let down last week (and was far from on his own).

For mine, situations like this become purely about list development. Guys like Houli need exposure at the top level or risk being irrelevant.
