Prediction Changes Port V Dogs Friday 6th May

Anyways, I can't see Martin getting up with the five day turnaround, would be a good week to bring in Sweet against Hayes. Hayes looked like he was running on fumes for half the game so we might as well bring Sweet in for it.

In : Khamis, Sweet, Crozier
Out : Williams, Martin, Vandemeer

Would play Cordy on Aliir in the same role Schache olayed last year.

West would feel hard done by this year IMO.
Sweet is a dud and can't get it done at VFL level it's time to let it go unless Stef is injured he is still better

With admitting limited viewing of the game I would do the following.

Out:
Williams - from what I’ve seen is just out of form.
Wallis - subbed out with ankle issue

In:
Crozier - has form in the vfl
Buku - can play the mid sized/third tall hybrid role that wallis did.
These changes seem reasonable.

I very much doubt Cordy gets dropped, I think Bev likes him in this 2nd ruck role.

Think the 5 day break might be a risk with Stef. Sweet would be capable of matching Martins output IMO
What are you drawing this conclusion from? He had 6 touches and no marks yesterday. Stef was getting 20 touches and 10 clearances and 5 marks a game when he was in there. Watch a VFL game from time to time and you will understand. He just doesn't get near it and for someone his size he is a poor tap ruckman

I think McComb will keep getting games and fans will keep screaming, much like what happened with Gardner :D. This time next year he'll be a regular in the team without comment ;)

Also think Wally won't travel this week, should probably stay home with his family and rest the foot as well.

Out: Wallis
In: Scott

Noticed the commentators talking up Williams whenever he went near the ball but I wouldn't mind if he made way for Buku or Crozier.

as out of form as Williams is, he has upside and a big body, and a good kick, we just cant afford to not play him with the outs we have.

Crozier plugs one hole/ weak point if he comes in, but it shouldnt be for Williams, maybe play him on a wing instead of Roarke, i would say McComb but Bevo aint going to do it

I think we probably need to get used to Cordy as the 2nd ruck. Bruce could do it later in the year but I suspect the club won’t want to put the added pressure of ruckwork on his knees.

Unless Jamarra is completely banging the door down, I expect we’ll see a Naughton, Bruce & Cordy forward line for the last part of the season. Ideally, the club would be confident in Bruce rucking & JUH’s form means he can’t be overlooked.

Schache has to play the role he did last year for all his flaws he's a very smart forward with leading patterns etc. I really think we missed hunter against both the dons and the Crows he is our version of Langdon from melb

Saints did not deal with Aliir Aliir and had no plan for him and it was very costly.

Schache may need to play to minimise Aliir Aliir impact

McNeil looked a lot better as a forward pocket than the half/forward wing that he was playing against Adelaide. Noticeably, Wallis actually played on the wing a fair bit so if he's out injured, so Scott looms as a likely replacement for that role rathee than moving McNeil/McConb back on the wing where they were poor vs. Adelaide

Play him closer to goal like Clay Smith?

I honestly don't think he has the speed, or the forward smarts to make that a successful role. But to be fair - it's a fairly small sample size I'm judging him on. He looked lost last week and while slightly better this week in that perspective, he just killed half a dozen forward moves when he and his target was clear - and he just didn't get it anywhere near them... Or directly turned it over.

We're all struggling to see what's happened with B Williams since last year - or wishing the drop off wasn't so severe - but McComb was getting close to that level bad in terms of turning the ball over. By half time I was hoping he wasn't getting the ball on Sunday - as it meant it was all going to come crashing down on us...

This week, if the weekend was any guide and if Port has any pride after last year - it'll be intense early. I cannot see how he copes with that pressure.

As I said - small sample size and all that, drop him back and give him a few things to work on. Give him another shot later in the year.

Schache to start and play defensive fwd on Alir, with Roarke Smith as sub.

Cordy's entire role right now is to stop the likes of allir. That'll be his job on the weekend. Bring the ball to ground. He's taken that job so literally he's even spoiling his own captain.
Cordy spoiling the captain, is typical of the 'dumb' things he does, his statistics on Sunday were horrendous, play Khamis in his place.

I thought McNeil played a fair bit on the wing on Sunday. More than i would have expected anyway

I think Kharmis is a must play. Not sure why VDM does not play wing probably needs a bigger tank. Looks like McComb plays I think that is 3 players in current team who have below average skills McComb (foot and hand skills) Roarke fumbles a lot and Ryan The Fist Gardner. "The Fist" is a a pure spoiler and is worth a game and will be much better when Keath when he returns to add to O'Brien's aerial skills. The other 2 are purely depth players and will be out if we have a near full list available.

Want to see the kid go ok, but his kicking is deplorable....

McComb appears safe sadly
Schache and Khamis in
Wallis (inj?) and VDM out
West sub

We need a minor miracle to win Friday, cant see it happening, our bottom 5 or 6 no matter who we pick are not good enough.

O'Brien is building and our defense will be ok with Keith back
Richards emerging.

they are the 2 positives so far, injuries have killed us, its a shame we couldnt have kicked straight earlier in the year and had another win or two.

Buku’s become a bit of a chameleon in the team. Firstly down back becoming a decent floating defender, now played up forward becoming a decent forward. Very adaptable to his surroundings.

Deserves a gig after 10 goals in 3 weeks.

Ins: Khamis Chameleon, Crozier

Out: Wallis (injured), Williams (omitted)
