Didn't Kreuger dislocate his shoulder? No way he plays next week.

Not really sure what the point of Tyler Brown playing is? Just floats around and gets 1 or 2 useless handballs every quarter.

In: Maynard Cox

Out: Kreuger Brown

Maynard for Brown is a no-brainer, with a little reshuffle that might see NDaicos playing more midfield minutes.

Could Ash Johnston replace Kreuger? If not, Cameron ahead of Cox please.

IF Johnson has a Big Game Tommorow then that is a Possibility

It is more about our structure than Geelong

We want Checker as #2 tall for our structure.

Grundy should have a field day in the ruck, but we need one of Cox, Cameron or Kreuger up forward.

Stanley has done pretty well against Grundy a few times.

Cameron provides a good chop-out in the ruck for Grundles. He needs to play next week.

Out: Sonia
In: Cameron

Out: Noble
In: Maynard

Out: Tyler Brown
In: Ash Johnston

Out: Noble, Krueger (inj), T Brown
In: Maynard, Cameron, McInnes
What’s the justification for omitting Noble? I’m not his biggest fan, but I can’t see how he gets dropped on his current form.

We absolutely have to play either Cameron or Cox, even if Krueger is available.

The cats have 3 ruckman. Blicavs, Stanley & Cementhands.
Better off having a medium defender that can play big (IMO). 3 rucks is too too heavy. I would be rapt if Cats play 3 rucks PLUS Hawkins and Cameron.
Too big.

Was at at the G today - another win to witness after being at Marvel last week! 2 from 2!

Hopefully not too much Diss-ing of my post, but just my thoughts as a newbie,,,,

I think the biggest headache for our selection committee v Geelong, is Match-ups. It's pretty rare you make multiple changes after a win, but based on team balance and opposition, it may be necessary

If the Cats start with Blitz-arse in the ruck, they could have Hawkins (198cm / 104 kg); Ratugolea (198cm / 108kg), and Cameron (196cm / 94kg) all starting forward

Sorry - but just can't see The Madge lining up on any of these 3 - he'd be monstered.

Caveat - I watched him closely today - he did more of the team oriented things (spoiling, pressure, etc) than what we saw last week, but still performed SMC (Standard Madge Clangers)

Moore (203cm / 100kg) to Hawkins seems logical:

Howe (190cm / 85kg) gives height and weight away to Cameron, but has good speed and leap.

So who to Ratugolea? Maybe play Cameron down back? Or even Checkers (who spent time down back in Round 1).

Let's say Cameron has the job to line up and at least contest against one of those beasts.

Possible line-up.

Ins - Cameron (from starting Sub); Maynard (back from suspension), and A Johnson (could play forward or back). Could Kelly be an option? (194cm / 92kg)

Outs - Freddie (shoulder), T Brown (MIA 1st 2 rounds), The Madge

FB IQ Moore Howe

HB Pendles Cameron Maynard

C Josh D Lapinski Crisp

HF Elliot Checkers Henry

FF Mcreery Ash J Sidey

R Grundy Adams De Goey

INT Noble Nick D Ginny WHE

Sub - McInness

He’s small. Gets constantly crunched. And he constantly butchers the ball.
You can’t have Noble, Crisp and Madgen (3 prime butcherers) in the same back-line. Our rebound out of defence today was pus.

Sorry but that’s not an explanation that’s going to cut it. He had a grand total of one turnover today, and his disposal was for the most part, very good. Not a fan of suggesting a player gets dropped based on preconceived notions rather than actual in game performance.

i think geelong will eat him alive. hes ok against weaker opponents but i think their pressure on the defender will expose him. im not about the last game im about who is best for the next one.

Against the Cats, you need big boys that don’t get knocked off the ball and are happy to put their head over the pill.
(Please refer to the Swans).
Noble will be mince meat.
As will be Go-Pro Ginnivan.
I wouldn’t even have Nick Daicos down back. He will get shredded.

My starting back would be:
B Quaynor Madge Bruz
HB Crisp Moore Howe
No bulldust. Get ready to get bruised.

C Josh Daicos DeGoey Sidey
HF Lipinski Checkers Jamie
F Henry Cameron (if Sonia is wounded) Ash Johnston
Foll Grundy Taylor Pendles
Int McCreery Go-Pro WHE Nick Daicos

Fair enough I guess. Better justification than the last response I got at least.

I dont know what the last response you got was?

Has Johnson even played a VFL game? I’m hopeful he will be handy, but I think he’s a fair ways off.

Not from you mate.

Oh ok.

I went to the Cats v Dons match with mates and two things particularly apparent were

Geelong looked physically much bigger and intimidated the bombers right round the ground.

Essendon coughed it up coming out of defence thanks to the pressure put on by the Cats, often poor kicking under pressure enabling a cats player to come in and mark across the front or spoil when the Dons thought they were free and clear.

I'll be the first to admit I just don't rate Noble and he's one I would always only play as depth, so I am sure Im a little biased, but I do think he is not suited to the game we are about to play. I doubt the match committee or most supporters agree with me and that's cool.
