Squiggle tips Bombers at 53% chance -- What's your tip? -- Team line-ups »
I'll put a lot of money we won't get within 6 goals![]()
We can’t score or defend. Two pretty big hurdles to overcome. Literally doesn’t matter what uniform the other 18 are wearing.
DiedHow did Esava go in the trial against West Adelaide?
He's a certainty thenNot as good as the week before, but still ok.
Wonder if this is the game Wanganeen told Sheedy he didn't want to play in.A 1993 issue of Budget Direct caught my eye
PORT VS ESSENDON
Pre-season 1993 Essendon put out feelers to the Magpies about using their mutual bye this weekend to best advantage. Ports hierarchy saw many pluses, so here we tonight ready for a feast of top football at Football Park. What better way to use the jewel?
Port Adelaide has never beaten Essendon. They clashed in Adelaide in 1884 a month short of a hundred years ago, and Port lost. In 1888 they drew. In 1898 it was Essendon again.
Port lost in the Escort Cup Australian Football Championship competition at VFL Park, in 1960 and 1961.
So the Bombers have never lost to the Magpies
The Bombers have never played Port at Football Park.
Let's hope that in a few hours from 5:15pm the local boys will have opened their account.
I remember we played Geelong in 1990 PS and Collingwood in 1993 PS but never knew of this game.
Georgiades said he believed the Power had the options to replace Lukosius as his partner.
“I think we have plenty of options and that is something we have had over pre-season, we lost Todd and Jack just recently,” he said. “But we have Jeremy who can play there, Esava has played there in the past I think on the weekend as well we managed to play reasonably well without him. “So there are plenty of options but we will wait and see.”
Burton has been moving like a Fentanyl fk’d zombie for some time now.Burton might go forward, Esava down back.
Can't see Jez getting back in, thought he was dropped based on effort and attitude?
If your options are Finlayson, Rat or noone you don't have optionsGeorgiades said he believed the Power had the options to replace Lukosius as his partner.

Like saying your options are death by Lethal injection or Electric chair. If your options are Finlayson, Rat or noone you don't have options

I'm so confident that Lord will be 80% fit, we'll play him because that's what Ken does. He'll do his shoulder again in Q2 or Q3 and it'll probably require surgery this time.Esava for Burton. We are short down back and need some height ASAP. He went through unscathed in the two trial games.
Lukosios for Finlayson. As much as it annoys me to select Finlayson, we are currently very thin in the tall forward department and the last thing you want is for Whitlock to be thrown to the wolves. If Lord passes a fitness test however, he must play.
And then you shuffle Burgoyne to half-back. Burgoyne played one of his best games in the semi-final against the Hawks, so he has a proven record and despite being a stick, Jase surprising can hold his own. This means Moraes plays on the wing.
Sub: Cochrane. Left-field thinking but he has shown a bit with kicking multiple goals and plays with a bit of hardness based on what I have seen.
Having said that, Ratkins is most likely going to be selected and spud it up as expected.
We’ll need Rategolea given the height Essendon have up forward.Out: Lukosios , Burton, Jones
In . Visentini Williams , Cochrane or Lai
That game was my first visit to Football Park and my first night game, age 11 or 12.A 1993 issue of Budget Direct caught my eye

Especially when our psuedo talls, who are just above mid sized defenders in Burton and Jones are both injured and won't be playing. You literally have Aliir and Bergman left. Esava just has to play and play in defence. Finlayson or Lord must be picked up forward. We’ll need Rategolea given the height Essendon have up forward.
They’ve got Draper at 205, Jones at 196 and Caddy and 193.
If we go into this game with Aliir as our only tall defender we are asking to get monstered in defence.
Seems the Bombers won by 4 goals. That game was my first visit to Football Park and my first night game, age 11 or 12.
We have a guy repeatedly dropped for not being good enough and another guy who couldn't kick a goal if walked to the goal line and all the opposition in shackles. So, yeah, take your pick.Yeah sure, a truck load of options.

Watch the evolution of Carr in the forward line. We will be playing SPP as a one on one. And quick transition from tight defence. It's the only way we could possibly match the Crows.lol you can tell in Georgiades' comments that even he thinks our key forward depth is cooked
