You don't think the omissions of Crouch & Brown isn't making a statement?

Yes, they are good week to week selections and decisions made by the coaches to develop the team

What I was getting at was this rubbish notion that because we are more inexperienced than other teams, we are therefore making decisions to develop the side.

We may be making decisions to develop the side (eg not playing Crouch), but even if we weren't making those decisions, we would still be the least experienced team in the league. Because our list management before the season forced us to be in that position.

So saying that we are inexperienced therefore the coaches are choosing to develop the team is wrong. The coaches have no choice but to play an inexperienced team. What matters for the rebuild on a week by week basis goes beyond such a basic metric.

Hearing Doedee toss off about Crouch made me physically ill.

Tell you something else, the adelaide media know we have trouble making tough decisions. Every time Matt doesn't play they start niggling. It's like they're goading the club to make a definitive statement on Matt, knowing the club doesn't have the nuts to do it.
The media's not intelligent enough to work like that. They do it simply because they are a bunch of shit campaigners.

Wrong... we are the youngest & least experienced because of both list management AND weekly selections.

Let's see... Brown & Crouch are currently in the magoos - so the obvious answers right now would be Parnell & Hately.
Ask yourself if you think Brown would still be playing if he didn't get injured.

The club must of copped so much heat on the Newchurch non call up they made Nicks put out a statement for it. And then he only went and dug himself a deeper ******* hole 😂. Hows about Murphy ”rounds” out his game and gets some bloody consistency.
It would be funny if it wasn't so piss weak.

Our club has learnt nothing. 20+ years of the same cr@p

We've got what, 6 weeks left in the season? Now should absolutely be the time we start making some decisions on list management and where we see the club next year.

And that means you start giving games to Newchurch and to Worell. The worst thing we find out is they're not good enough and we don't end up with them on the list for 6-7 years barely playing like we have with Davis or CEY.

Nothing has changed. Nobody cares now about the short term. We need to find out about the longer term and if we are ever going to have a team of useful players that can stand up in finals. This, like D Mac, like Harto et al in the recent past does nothing to help. Newchurch in - I go tomorrow. Murphy in - I don't go tomorrow. No disrespect Lachlan but forwards who can't kick are not going to cut it. Will spend time with family instead.

So Nicks just openly admitted that Murphy was chosen purely because of his experience
I can only imagine the selectors room.

Selectors: So we've lost our Xfactor forward, and our small running forward this week. Who was the best Xfactor forward in the 2's?
Godden: Newchurch
Selectors: Ok, So who was our our best small running forward in the 2's
Godden: Newchurch
Selectors: Interesting, so who performed worst in both roles out of Newchurch, Murphy and Wright?
Godden: Well I mean, between Wright and Newchurch we scored 8.3 and gifted Murphy with both of his goals....

Selectors: Murphy it is!

Leave my boy Harto out of this

Fun fact - in 6 out of the past 7 seasons we have beaten one of the previous year's grand finalists - including this year and our spoon year. Also includes 2018 when we beat the other team from the 2017 GF. The exception was 2019 where we beat neither of WC or CWD.

Winning tomorrow would give us a win against both 2021 grand finalists.
Last time that happened was 2010 when we beat both Geelong and StK. That was the second season for both Sloane and Walker.

Can't see it happening this year though.

Nicks is part right. Newchurch does indeed have deficiencies and he may very well not be the long term answer. But I am much more sure Murphy isn't the answer either and we have 69 AFL games as evidence backing that up. We should be playing Newchurch when the opportunity arises in order to find out where he's at.

Maybe 2-3 weeks ago when the Dees were going through a down spell, but they're out the other end of that now and won't want to be dropping the easier games on their schedule for the rest of the year.

I don't think anyone is saying Newchurch doesn't have deficiencies, it's the inconsistencies with justifications of selection that is annoying. To say you can't pick Newchurch because he's not well rounded enough yet, but then go and pick Murphy is contradictory at best.

Because I am interested in your opinion.

But curious what is so funny about the question when I asked it of CG?

Because you did the same thing to them. Asked a question which was not on topic with the comment you were quoting - and a question which they had specifically addressed in an earlier post.

Weird approach.
