Nicks got confused with the term "valuable experience". Valuable experience would have maybe been Newchuech being on the same field as Kossie, just to give him a sniff of where he needs to take his game.
Yep agree … a nice chance to show him the difference between sanfl and the level at AFL

Who knows , he may have swam more than sunk but it’s not just about that

I actually think you’ve nailed the reasons why they selected Murphy even though I don’t agree with them

They’ve looked at Ned on terms of pressure and what we have without him and then looked at the next pressure player in Murphy to fill that void

Personally I would have rolled with in form Newchurch and just hoped that potentially a bit more offence could offset a bit more pressure … who knows , maybe with a bit more speed in forward half pressure might not drop off at all if intent is there

We will never know this week , I think an error by the coaches but agree with you that you’ve nailed the reasons

Agreed, if we were a contender then it would be a different story but we have to get games into players who are the future or in Newchurch's case find out if he is part of the future. I'd rather lose by a bit more but get something out of the game.

Club must have been panicking to put out a statement justifying selection. I don't think that has been done before.
The feedback they received must have been vitriolic/outraged at the Murphy selection.

The fact that they've chosen to explain themselves using the Head Coach to justify Murphy's selection reminds me of Shaw dragging the team out to apologise to fans for his shitness.
It's Panic Stations. Clutching at straws.

COMING SOON to a presser near you:
statements from the CEO etc that Nicks has the full support of the Club and the players (until he's sacked, not long after that).

When Bickley would have taken the chance and brought Newchurch in, you know how s**t this decision is.
Bickley may say he’d take a chance, but no way would he do that if he were coach. No way. He was never a risk taker.

Matt Crouch did "everything they asked of him" according to Nicks.

Wasn't selected.

So he didn't do everything did he now...

What a load of rubbish.

What a load of rubbish.
C'mon Jenny; you're usually smarter (and better-mannered) than that.
It was not the usual Friday presser. It was even headlined on the AFC site as "Nicks explains selection decisions", which he had never done previously and does not have to.

Some serious flak must have been received for Nicks to come out to justify the selection of one player.
The Club is finally aware that the Campers are not happy and have panicked.

Here: a friendly bet --- if Nicks is still Coach moving forward at this time next year, I'll send you a bottle of your favourite spirit/liqueur, or vice versa if not. Deal? :smilev1:

Definitely would have played Newchurch

But f1ck me we have some bed wetter supporters

Always thought the worst in the comp , even when we weren’t this bad , nobody whinges like a crows supporter . It’s umpires , coaches etc etc

no wonder everyone hates us haha

Never changing sides though , love us too much

That's only because supporters of some clubs like St Kilda have totally given up

Newchurch

“He is very, very good in front of goal, he’s got some really big assets when it comes to his speed and his agility.

“He’s developing really well, he’s a fantastic young kid, so we’ll see when the time is right.

“But I do understand the pressure at the moment for spots and our selection committee understands people want to see Tariek.

“We want to see him as well and he’ll be exciting when the opportunity does come.”

Oh Jesus that is just puke inducing.
I don't give a toss if you are plain stupid. But I do if you have no integrity or accountability whatsoever.
Where do we find these Muppets? Is it the hiring bodies gravitating toward their mirror images?

Mealy-mouthed softcocks.

Every club has bed wetter. Ours are different though.
Show me another club that consistently does the stupid shit that we do on a wholistic level.

The whingers are a vocal majority here on this board, but mere negative agitators and a tiny percentage of the broader supporter base as a whole.

Funny though,if you trace back any path toward change this club has ever been pressured into due to supporter discontent, you usually find that the agitators on this board are way ahead of the curve.

We are catalytic.

I'm sure the only thing they asked of him was to lie low in the 2's for a couple of weeks until the external pressure blows over.

" Relax Texs best friend. We just gotta get the ol P.R. machine cranking in your favour for a coupla weeks, then you'll be back to feast on a bottom dweller or two
You know we all love you Texs best mate!"

Also if I was captain I'd be asking my coach why he isn't giving the kid with X factor a shot.

Too busy doing promo for his new footy product

Might have but it doesn’t mean he was going to pick him , one week wasn’t the plan Obvs

hahahaha comedy

Excuses

There is a reason our supporters are derided around the league

We either overate our side drastically or think it’s the end of the world

Never anything in between

Funny of you to lecture us after how you carried on in the Fogarty thread.

Which part? I'm sure if either of us could be bothered, we could establish evidence backed timelines.

What people whinge about on this board usually gets addressed in real life a few years down the line from what I've seen.

How must Murph be feeling?
There’s only one way to justify Nicks justifying his selection.
