For a club in our position to have 10 players with 0 AFL games and another 8 with less than 10 games is pretty disgraceful.

It means that any time we drop someone in our previous best 22, we're basically forced into bringing in a debutant into an already inexperienced side

We're going to have to get a lot younger, and quickly

Can people stop mentioning Davis.
Hes just another Matt Crouch.

Hes the type of midfielder who's the icing ontop of the cake. If you don't have the cake underneath he's completely and utterly useless. And that's the problem with our current midfield. We don't have the base anymore. We don't have a Scott Thompson, we don't have a Patrick Dangerfield, we don't have a Hugh Greenwood, we don't have a Cameron Ellis-Yoleman.

Ben Davis, Matt Crouch, Brad Crouch, Rory Sloane (In his current role) are all the same type of midfielder.
If you can move 2 of Crouch/Sloane out of the guts then sure, slot Davis in there. But if you cant, including him is only a wasted spot in the 22. He wont get the midfield minutes to grow, and itll stop someone else growing. IMO, playing Davis is just going to hinder 2 careers unless you can move 2 of Crouch/Sloane out.

It leads to an interesting debate. Do you play Davis or the Crouches. Id actually play the Crouches to maintain value so you can get good compensation for them. Davis is the future, but Davis 1 year along in his development or Davis 0 years along in his development PLUS 1 or 2 other high draft picks?
Wow. You really haven't watched Davis at all have you?
He is nothing at all like Matt Crouch.

He's not slow, he's not a midfielder - let alone an inside mid!

David is a half forward. He's the type of player that is capable of some amazing things that no-one else will do. He's a flash in and out of the game player.

Literally nothing like Matt at all.

Great post...but Davis is a forward

If this offseason goes how I am expecting it to go then in 2 trade periods we will literally go from the oldest club in the AFL to the youngest.

Has that ever been done before?

Keays is a bust; apart from fluking one long goal his kicking is awful, as is his awareness. He simply isn't AFL standard and won't improve at his age and level of experience. Feels like the club won't want to recruit a player from interstate and then have him play nothing but trial games for the year so he'll probably play a few more at senior level.

Lynch is done, offers absolutely nothing except abuse at teammates who are still somehow kicking it better than him.

Sloane is no longer a midfielder, needs to play up forward with some wing time.

Smith needs to play midfield; now is the perfect time to give him a month in the middle and see if he can do it.

As mentioned by others, Murphy was absolutely slaughtered by a third-game teenager. You're out.

What the heck has happened to Seedsman. Yikes.

McAdam MUST be an 'in' next week.

Gooch and Poholke should be given a run through the midfield. This is the time to see if they can do it, I'm fine with the Crouch brothers continuing to play as experienced bodies in the middle but Matt needs to actually play as an 'inside' midfielder and stop trying to be something else.

Perfect timing for Brad to be out of contract as a free agent; hopefully North/Haws/Someone offers him a decent contract and we can get a first round pick as compensation.

IN: McAdam Gallucci Poholke Schoenberg
OUT: Murphy Lynch Seedsman Atkins

At this point in time I'd be surprised if we'd get a band 1 compo pick for Brad if he choses to leave via free agency. That's just a pipe dream.

Hence why all our supporters need to suck it up and stop complaining about the loss. We need to get 50 games into Hamill, McAsey, Fog, ROB, Jones, Ned, et al ASAP. That will mean we lose more than we win, it is what is is.

Don Pyke was a Ross Lyon coach, going for the flag. I'm fine with that, but he didn't give up on the dream when it wasn't going to happen. Half way through last year it was obvious, we were done, even if we did scrape into the finals, we'd have lost week 1. We should already have Jones on 20 games.

Take a look at the senior players, Seedsman is the one for me who isn't giving a yelp.

The 2nd goal the GC kicked was from a stoppage on the wing, and he just watched his player (Miller) run straight past him. Smith was also there star gazing. It was deplorable

This senior group of players carry scars that cannot be healed. We for us to move on they need to be.

This is pretty much what the Indianapolis Colts had to do to make the NFL playoffs after the 2015 AFC Championship game. There’s almost no one left from that game either on the field or in the offices

My changes:

Out: Seedsman, Atkins, Kelly, Tex
In: McAdam, Schoenberg, Gallucci, Himmelberg

Gallucci plays in the backline, Ned and Schoenberg to full time mids. Himmelberg is lucky, but get a run for the next 7 games then it's Frampton's turn for 7 games if he doesn't show something.

We will get pounded with that team, but hopefully after a few weeks, the young ones can stand up and say 'this is my team now' and take some ownership of it

At some stage this season we need to give Gallucci and Poholke a 5 week block otherwise they will carry no trade value .

We must explore the equity of our list .
They retain more trade value by staying hidden in the scratch matches, as nobody can see how bad they are.

Who do they play on Cameron this week?

Brown will get slaughtered, he just doesn't have the pace. Do they roll Murphy back onto him?
Historically, the MC would pick someone like Sholl. And then hang him out dry at selection the following week if he gets towelled up

How has Sholl not been selected yet?

He was the best of our 2018 draftees in the SANFL last year.
