You are blinded by past performances & don't judge on the now.

You are alone on this one... including our coach who was happy with the Fog.

But I'm sure you will keep digging that hole lol.
I'm judging on what I saw today... which was nothing whatsoever, if the ball wasn't being delivered lace out, silver service. No forward is going to survive in the game if they are as reliant on perfect delivery as Fogarty is.

You're a guy who doesn't watch games much, discussions like this make that clear.

Surely you wonder why did everyone else see the game differently...

Again, just more rubbish - the bloke is a rolls royce forward. If Fogarty kicks 2-3 goals every week for the rest of the season, he's more than done his job.
He's not a rolls royce, he's a rolls kenardly.

Rolls down one hill, Kenardly get up the next. If he's incapable of winning the ball, unless it's delivered perfectly from the midfield, then that makes him a downhill skier - not a high peformance luxury machine.

Lachlan Sholl - now there's a Rolls Royce.

I watch them, I just don't watch them with shiny pink glasses, so that everything I see is rosy. I watch them with my eyes open, and unblinkered.
You watch games with very preconceived biases... that blind you to the true performances of some players.

Everyone else is not telling you this for fun...

Not really. I'm used to most of the people on this board being blinded by shinytoyitis.

I get that Fogarty is an SA player, a high draft pick, and everyone is desperate for him to succeed - so they go out of their way to look for positives everytime he plays, either consciously or subconsciously glossing over the negatives in the process.

Then one day the shine wears off the toy, and they finally start seeing the flaws in the players' game. For some reason Fogarty's shine remains untarnished for these people, despite 3 years of consistent failure to date.

I just don't watch games through the blinkers of shinytoyitis, which blind so many to the negative aspects of players' games. I am comfortable that my view is less biased than most around here.

If Fogarty had had 12 disposals, won his own ball, and applied defensive pressure, then I wouldn't be posting these comments tonight. Contrast Fogarty with Walker, who has kicked how many goals this year from successful tackles? Fogarty is not fit to tie Tex's shoelaces.

So everyone else is wrong lol.

Sometimes you have no self awareness...

He did some good blocking and bodying in the centre square too. Opened the gate for Laird a couple of times.

I think you find that is what you call forward craft and leading pattern to allow you to go on the lead at the right time, place a gap on your opposition and provide an easy kick for the deliverer.

We were one tall too many up forward. One of Frampton, Lynch and Fogarty needs to go.

Lynch stays. He's played ok this season overall and we love him. Fogarty makes things interesting with his 3 goals. Frampton can't play at all. If we could cobble ruck minutes from anyone else it would be an easy call.

I think we'll just stick with an ineffective structure because it saves us a hard call.

Frampton's just keeping the seat warm for Thilthorpe, hopefully sooner rather than later. Sure, Thilthorpe might not be 'ready' (barely any kids are ready straight away - playing AFL games helps them get there) but the benchmark he has to get over is only about 5 ineffective possessions and a few calamitous **** ups.

I suspect Himmelberg ran over Nicks' dog before Christmas so he's out of the picture. And knows it, judging by his SANFL form.

Fogarty is not fit to tie Tex's shoelaces.

I mean, thats obvious - one is the clubs leading goal kicker of all time and played over 200 games and the other is a 25 game player.....

Literally noboby is calling Walker to be dropped instead of Fogarty, I'm not even sure why you even make this comparison.

If Sloane, Talia and Matt Crouch were all fit we'd be dropping 3 players so that's nonsense
Sure.

But there's currently no Talias, Sloanes or Crouches not in the team. They're proven best 22 players, and others are getting opportunities through their absence.

They're not disrupting a winning side just to get a read on someone who's looking alright in the SANFL. Those folks will get a chance when injury comes - just like other players did with the Crouch/Talia/Sloane injuries

And I'm not disputing he didn't do much up the ground. Because he didn't

His influence was inside 50 where he was our second best forward on the field. He played his role and deserves to be in the team next week.

Lynch? Well in my opinion he did not play his role
He's been the best in the entire AFL at his role this season, which jars with the groupthink about Lynch.
