Given how bare the cupboard is, if Tex is a late out, would we look at Frampton back as a forward??

Doesn't sound like McAsey has earnt his spot at CHF and Gallant badly needs a rest...

Post reported.

I'd rather play Borlase as a forward lol.

After coming on as a sub against Essendon (and looking good), Cook has played 4 games on the wing with 17, 12, 14 and 8 disposals. This is making DMac look like a ball magnet.

I have been a long term supporter of Cook but a week off and a couple of weeks in the Twos seems like a good idea. In the meantime I would like to see Soligo get a 4 week block.

Next move probably some time off for Sholl and hopefully some games for Parnell.

Sorry to intrude, not sure where to post but just looking for a bit of info on the footy express. I think I have found where I would leave from but the Adelaide Metro timetable isn't really offering a lot of help as far as times etc, it says to put 'Adelaide Oval' in as your final location in the find a timetable feature but then it doesn't actually have that as a location. Anyway, how often do buses come through? Cheers..

Mackay averaged 14 disposals a game last 2 years and averaged 16.6 disposals per game for his whole career. Cook has played 10 matches and averaged 12 disposals a game. 12 disposals a game is not bad for a player just starting out in a bottom 2-3 side. Most of Mackay's career was in a much better side.

Yes it was a very strange thing to say.

Go to Journey Planner and type in Adelaide Oval

iirc at the interchanges shit loads of buses come through an hour or two beforehand. Instead of the route on the front they just say footy express or adelaide oval.

Hear me out….

Cook in, Himm + Fog as the two KPFs, Dawson to play further inside the F50 in a psudeo-3rd tall role

Makes you wonder how Sholl is still in the side. His offensive output has dropped right off to go with his complete lack of pressure.
True.

But with Shoey, what makes it ok for me is it isn't Crouch in to take his spot. It's another young player.

Shoey learning anything in the SANFL is another question though.

I watched the lowlights vs Carlton again and reckon I spotted one of the reasons why Schoenberg was dropped.

@6.47 in the replay, with 3.13 left in the 2nd quarter, Carlton's Durdin slips around behind Schoenberg (who is ball-watching, but should be watching Durdin) and takes off to receive a handball, easily.
Schoenberg reacts late, then jogs after Durdin who makes a creative I50 to Curnow who's 5m in front of Frampton (of course). Durdin keeps running. Schoenberg gives up the chase.

Goal.

Schoenberg --- poor effort, unaccountable, not good enough for an AFL mid. Something to work on, I hope.

Poor fog is trending to become the unluckiest key forward in the history of the entire AFL.
I disagree.
You made the good point that our forwards suffer from the poor delivery of the mids.
However,
Fogarty rarely makes a second effort, gives away petulant free kicks when things don't go his way, and his defensive efforts against his own and other defenders are poor.
Those three things have nothing to do with luck (although he should count his lucky stars that he has Tex close to him as a forward role model).

Fogarty has got to realise that being built like a brick shithouse is not enough for him any more. He doesn't stand out like he used to when younger. He just has to work harder.

It was a really bad look last week when Shoey's man ran off him at half forward and he didn't chase and his man kicked it straight into their F50
That's a dropable offence straight away
I'm sorry I missed your post. Well-spotted.
It's exactly the incident I referred to after watching the lowlights again, above.

Excuses for Fog have been never ending.

Bad midfield entries.
He was unlucky all of last year when Tex was in the side because Tex gets all of the good inside 50 entries and Fog isn't targeted.
He has was very unlucky the first 3 games this year because he got the oppositions best defender. Thats why he averaged less than 8 touches a game and less than a goal a game.
Apologies, I missed the sarcasm.

Our midfield needs an overhaul. We have a couple of experienced midfielders who are pretty good. We have a number of inexperienced midfielders who need to be fast tracked. Therefore we need to rotate more players through the centre square
Which seems like a no brainer yet this seemingly hasn't dawned on us.
THIS, x 100. Great post.

It's certainly dawned on "us" in here --- in fact it's glaringly obvious --- just not in the Coaches box.

I don’t think Frampton is a great one on one defender, but Curnow is the most in form key forward in the comp and has destroyed most defenders this year. Doedee’s one on one work is just as bad and his skills aren’t even close to Frampton’s. I have no issue with Frampton going out, but we desperately need McAsey to come on and be the 2nd KPD.

No, Doedee defensive skills are far, far, far superior to Frampton's. Billy doesn't know how to position himself & is a weak spoiler.

The issue is the dude should not be playing as a key defender.

Terrible call. Doedee is undersized and shouldn't have to play on monster forwards but we only have 1 passable KPD on our entire list (Butts) so we are forced to do so.

Frampton is the size of a ruckman and could barely compete. That is when he wasn't trailing 5 metres behind his opponent.

We are going to have to go after one in the trade period. Pearce from Freo might be an option, though he is extremely injury prone.

Would love Taylor from GWS.

The big question is whether when Frampton gets brought back, it's as a defender or as a forward

And when Himmelberg comes back after Frampton gets dropped again, will it be in defense?

Need to fully explore all options. Ruck after that

Frampton should never come back. Nobody needs a 200cm+ unaccountable defender. No matter how good disposal is relative to height. Rather play a rotating mid in that spot.
