It's tough, if they'd played well the first two weeks then I think you put that 3rd quarter down to a young team getting way ahead of themselves and a WC team who had nothing to lose who threw everything they could at us and ignore it. Because it was some of the same glaring issues as the first two weeks - mainly getting beat up on what seemed like every ground ball contest - it was a lot scarier and more worrying.

I'm not sure we should have won by more, just won it comfortably a lot earlier (it was a 7 goal win after all).

I am very concerned for the midfield battle this week, we have to win there not just to get this win but to get some confidence the midfield is able to compete.

Jacko adds the height, Switta the speed which is another reason to go all in for Pickett. We need to develop our contested ball winning players.

Just play Erasmus. Also, Johnson is the 3rd tallest mid in the league (Bont, Cripps).

We have big body types (doubly if Jackson plays as a mid), we need speed and skill game breakers. Peak Shill and Bennell would be handy.

True. Just concerned with how the eagles mid carved them up in the 3rd quarter even undermanned. Even with Mundy last year there were periods in most games that happened. Against top teams 1 bad quarter getting beaten comprehensively like that is where most games would be lost

That's not a big body problem, that's a spread/defensive problem. Quick mids will (theoretically) help with that.

Taberner has the three way problem of being old, lacking leadership and not being very good. If he was much younger you’d give him a break. Or if he showed the leadership of Nick Maxwell, who was both old and not that good when captaining Collingwood.

Dumb counter point, Willo is not permanently b22 as Walker will eventually replace him this season. Moose is our captain again with no replacement. Sonny has no replacement atm. Fyfe is competing for Tabs spot.

Yeah I wanted him to stay in, he was unfairly treated and the lack of WAFL screws him over again. Tabs isnt playng well (and anyone that says he is is giant homer IMO) but he's playing his role and therefore Treacy needs to push him out with performances. Treacy hasnt shown enough to be confident he'd consistently provide more than Tabs IMO

When & if he gets another opportunity id like to see him given a few games to settle. Played 15 games first year & showed some promising signs

I'm happy with just Walker in for Chapman. As forced changes go, it's well timed. Walker should provide good defence on one of Adelaide's smalls, and help with our attacking run from defence.

I personally would prefer Brodie over JOM but I'm okay with giving Jaegar a bit more time. And probably last chance for Henry and Hughes to impress.
