In: Voss, Switkowski
Out: Darcy, Simpson

Not ideal, but we can still win.
I think we are better suited with Jackson V Grundy than Darcy V Grundy.Jacko more mobile to run with him around the ground.
Treacy as second string ruck, leaving Voss as taking Treacys placewhenJTis on the ball.
Switta or Walters sub.

Pretty big hit to our chances, unfortunately. Especially due to the knock on of not having Treacy in the forward line as much.

Voss brings physicality for a wet weather slog and I’m glad he’s been selected for this one. But does he have the speed/agility and smarts to bring his physicality to bear?

Hopefully it’s Walters as the sub, opening the possibility of going smaller in the forward line as the game unfolds.

Darcy out is a tough one.

Surprised they haven't brought in Parker to help with clearance work but it shows how settled their mids are when he can't get a game. He didn't even get on the plane.

Goodwin was just on Fox saying that they’ve been working on their ball movement at training in order to improve their scoring (similar profile to us - great defensively poor offensively) - but with the wet weather tonight they are putting that aside and changing their mindset back to basics.

Just thought that was interesting and wonder how JL approaches tomorrow night. He’s been stubborn in the past about playing the same way in the wet.

It was interesting listening to Stone, and how you can't over handball in wet weather.

With us being a heavy handball team, plus the swans being a big kicking team we will need to change our game plans massively.

I agree, I hope JL is open minded enough to simplify our approach - we have the contested mids to be a good surge team in the wet.

This is a big test for our coach IMO.

I would expect Grundy to have run Darcy all over the park and been the marking target for almost every kick.

If Sean Darcy can't cover the ground then it's a vulnerability every good team will exploit

They made the correct changes, I think Darcy out in the wet probably isn't the worst call, especially if he's still ginger.
In a wet slog, with presumably a lot of ruck contests, I would have brought in Reidy rather than Voss, Jackson already looks out of sorts, this game will just grind him down more.

It may grind Jackson down,or being the #1 ruck for the week will force him into playing harder.

Grundy has performed the best this season against the big lumbering Darcy types. His best games were against Gawn, Witts and Briggs. Bailey Williams held his own.

Grundy can't jump, and every bounce he will step immediately over the line and put an arm bar out to block Jackson's jump. Made legal this year. We better be planning for this. Jackson needs to anticipate it and go around/over him.
