I'm OK with Freijah being out. He's been doing great for a late pick first year player, beyond expectations, but he isn't in the bests yet and we are near to full strength atm.

Didn't say you did. You hinted that you think we got slower, I offered another perspectiveDid I say he was, did I?
Agree. Freijah is an 18yo who has played every game this year (initially in the VFL but then 10 straight in the seniors). It's a gruelling season for a kid so a few extra days off will be very timely. Not just for next week but in the run to the finals. You don't want the capable first year players falling away in September. For Freijah and Sanders I definitely see managed. The game v Geelong was a muddy slog, probably could do with the longer recovery given the quick turnaround coming up.
A manged bulldog does need to be dropped.Manged is the new dropped
Not very often that we play late Sunday then Friday night the next week though.
Bizarre scheduling ny the AFL.
Yes, that is rare....
As for listing managed/rested players, there have been 21 matches out of his 225 as coach where we have listed players as either managed or rested, but most of those occurred during the COVID years. Excluding those years it's just 7 matches out of 181 and none since R22 2022. So it is indeed a rarity for us to list managed players.
Yes, that is rare.
Could just be circumstances. Or could it be some additional wise heads on MC this year?
Don't understand this take. How is Macrae meant to fill in for a small or pressure forward? His merits mean absolutely nothing in this scenario. How can Macrae be managed off playing 20 minutes with no VFL game to keep touch in ?
Obviously Vandermeer and McNeil are better players than a 3 time AA with the 10th most Brownlow votes in Bulldog history ……
Sorry Laith. Less time on BF, more time getting a kickThe post before yours. SayerTheCreator melting for the greater good.
When was the last time VDM played vfl
The modern day terminology amazes me. Managed is omitted

I must be one out here. VDM is certainly bottom 6 but do see him as the whipping boy and does offer defensive pressure and does get up down the ground. He probably is lucky to not get dropped at some stage but I probably rate in the top 22.
In no way would Freijah be a soft dropping, played well last week
