Corbett for Freddy
Treacy for Banfield
Erasmus for JOM
Chapman for Wagner

That's atleast 4 we should make
Genuinely Banfield offers more than Treacy at this point. Banfield is putting up better numbers in the AFL than Treacy is in the WAFL. Can talk all you want about development but Treacy can't even impact a WAFL game.

Only way I see Treacy coming in is if LJ or Darcy get injured.

Longmuir has been extremely careless when it comes to boys carrying injuries this year, playing guys underdone, bringing guys back to the AFL too early when they should be spending time in the WAFL to build up fitness first.

If a player is carrying an injury, either take them out until they're 100% ready to go, or play them in the WAFL until they're ready to make the jump. The first 22 should always be fully fit.

I don't care how crucial they are to the team, if they aren't firing on all cylinders, get them out. Switkowski and Chapman shouldn't be coming in this week.

Yeah but it happens every year. Players always play through injury on every team unless they physically cant. Some of our best players last year were carrying an injury almost every round.

You're right but it's still careless, leaving it alone until it becomes serious.

It has been speculated Brayshaw has been carrying an injury, and if you watched On The Couch last night, Lyon (who would have connections to the Brayshaw clan through the Demons) let it slip that he 100% knows this to be fact. I know lots of players carry injuries, but I don't like the idea of running one of our best players into the ground, especially if it is something like OP.

I'd love to see them try Brandon Walker in Freddy's position seeing as he's out. He's probably the next quickest bloke in the team and I think he's got good core strength and tackles well, which is what you want in a small forward.

Against the bulldogs we actually tried a lot of combos - by my count:

Serong, O'Meara, Brayshaw (Default 1)
Serong, Brodie, Brayshaw (Default 2)
Serong, Brodie, O'Meara
Serong, Johnson, O'Meara
Brodie, Johnson, O'Meara
Brodie, Aish, Brayshaw.

Were the midfield combinations. I am sure if Switkowski was fit he would have also been in the mix. Looking at this I think we can all see why it is difficult to fit Erasmus in whilst keeping some level of stability.
Other than Johnson that is just our standard failed combinations. We needed to try something different. You should be able to fit Erasmus in if the players currently doing the job are not getting it done and haven't all year. No-one should be undroppable. They could have tried Jackson even Banfield, Young a bit earlier moved Clark up the ground. Shoota played a great game against B Hill on the wing and has done some work inside. Instead, we just played merry-go-rounds with the same chairs that were getting pumped.
No doubt our standard crew will pull themselves together at some point and may or not be our default in the future but that doesn't excuse not trying something else during this game, as the game was obviously going down the toilet. We may (or may not) have lost by more but it would have been worth it.

Alex Pearce might need a break.
