Well that was as disappointing effort as we could have. So who do you want to come in?
Hannath, Clarke and Tucker (rest) must be on the chopping board, so who comes in.

For mine Big Griff plus Langdon are the obvious ones plus perhaps Ibbo just because he is the best of what's left! The team needs a break and a refresh and Tucker and perhaps Weller are looking mighty tired.

At least it's the bye. Now get 15 day break between games, so that works in Weller and Tucker's favour. Really hope Yarran, Langdon and Morabito are a chance in the coming weeks.

What's amazing,we have been hammered weather wise, played in the worst conditions here several weeks ago only to be battered again in Vic. Now we go to the hottest climate for our next game - Darwin.

Out: Clarke, Hannath, Mayne, Tucker (maybe)
In: Griffin, Langdon, Hughes, Ibbotson (maybe)

A bit unfair for mayne. Out Clarke in Yarran. No point playing two ruckmen for the sick of it. Clarke just don't give a s%&t for freo.

Agree that the comments on Mayne after such a good month of football are rough, he will stay in. Let's just hope Griff is in because my TV screen could not stand what I will throw at it if I have to watch Hannath and Clarke again I mean fair dinkum.

Surely Langdon gets a run of games, it is not as though we couldn't do with his elite running or even ability to kick a goal. After watching that last Peel game I am very keen for Freo to play him and then sign him up.

I know I'm probably on my own but, while happy to put Zarke in the "Never to be played again" basket, I would actually persist with Hannath. Big blokes notoriously take much longer to mature and reach their potential and although he stunk it up big time last night, there were just micro-views of the sort of things he can do. A great clunking mark (which he then stupidly played on from) being one of them.

I would continue with him for a couple of years and hope between Sandi and Griff we only need to call on Hannath a few times a year.

Whilst I agree that we need that back up ruckman, I think you are being generous even saying there a micro-views of stuff Hannath can do. I honestly would play Apeness as a ruckman ahead of him (actually that really appeals).

Two times I have heard RTB be a little bit scathing of performance and it has been about Zac and Jack, I think he has seen enough come the end of the season.

If we weren't so short on rucks, I'd never play Hannath again.
He will never be a decent/depth player.
Absolute dud.
Way more heart than Clarke, but way less talent.
We could have two good player if Hannath effort and size put into clarke, clarke mobility and speed put into Hannath.

Won't happen after the bye but 2018 Appness ruck Mcarthy and Hogan in the forward line.

Whilst I don't think we will see Hogan, I am starting to love the idea of Apeness in the ruck.

It will get him around the ball and build confidence quicker. Plus he has the intent that Clarke could only dream of and significant more skill than Hannath. With him being a threat in the forward line when resting it is a move that we should trial in the last couple of games. Our midfield will walk taller with Apeness in the ruck.

As much as some people want hannath gone. he will get a contract extension and here is why... I look at our ruck stocks. Sandi, Griff, Clarke and Hannath.

Im dead certain Sandi and Griffin will retire in 2017.

Clarke is out of contract. What clarke does this season will decide Hannaths fate.

Ckarke gets a 2 year deal then Hannath has to be kept. Clarke leaves as a free agent and we get a 2nd or 3rd rounder, Hannath will sign for 2 more years.

There is no way Freo get rid of all 4 ruckmen and were left with rookie rucks in 2018

Hannath has no potential. He's a potato.

It becomes incredibly important for us to pick up an established ruckman at the end of the season. Unfortunately the only free agents are Ty Vickery or Will Minson. Vickery is only a backup ruck and Minson is already 31.

Sandilands won't necessarily retire end of next season. He'll continue to earn the big bucks and if he wasn't playing afl, he'd be mowing lawns. I doubt he'll have a media career. Not sure he's the coaching type. With a young family, I'd imagine he'll play as long as he's offered a contract.

What about Vardy from Geelong? No idea on his injury status or VFL form, but I thought he seemed a decent prospect a few years ago, albeit injury prone.

Hannath has no potential. He's a potato.

Potato he may be but if the club/selection panel are going to persist with Pearce and Suban when it's patently clear they have nothing to offer, then Hannath should stay on the list purely as backup given our ruck stocks are basically nil

Sandilands is an anomaly. He's 33 now, yet when fully fit, he's easily in the top 5 ruckman still. He's still pretty mobile for a guy his size and age too. I wouldn't be surprised if he turned out to be the Dustin Fletcher of ruckman. Just continuing on each year until he's 40.

I doubt he will, of course, but I would be totally fine if he did.

Sandi has at least 2-3 yrs left in him, and last year was his best yet
