Wow - Griffin at 80% is regarded better than both Clarke and Hannath. Goodbye to the two of them - for what it's worth a lot of people from Vic seem to think Clarke has value, let's hope the selection teams think the same.

Ibbotson deserves a lifeline, he had a fairly good outing for Peel a few weeks ago but if Hughes was in form he'd probably still be there.

Great to see Langdon back - let's all hope Yarran, Mora and Hughes tear it up in the WAFL and bang the door down into the side soon.

I am not sure which part of him is the most broken though....Knee, heart, spirit :(!!

I can't shake the feeling that he is really struggling with his knee/s.

Looks like he is walking on egg shells when he gets around the ground.

Without his athletic ability his weaknesses really shine through, pity we can't get an opportunity to see him at full fitness so that we could have made an informed opinion.

Clarkes a free agent

We still want him valued as high as possible for the compo pick though.

His value is probably better served letting him chop up a few games in the WAFL rather than persisting with the shit he's been delivering in the AFL though.

And Griff battling solo against Gawn. Good luck to him the poor bastard.

Griff will blow up at some point, no doubt in my mind, but he'll put in all he's got until he does.

Clarke at absolute best might give you a good 20 minutes or so. More likely to give you absolutely nothing but more reasons to post on the vent thread.

its easy to see how Clarke would be tempting to other clubs hoping he can thrive with a fresh start. He's always tantalised with glimpses of elite footy. Huge pack marks, good athleticism, he's a booming kick and has neat skills. He "should" be a good to very good player but somehow isn't.

We will probably get better value for Clarke with him playing better in the WAFL and showing his 'potential' rather than playing in the firsts and not showing anything.

It's odd isn't it? I remember seeing an interview with him back when he last re-signed with Freo, and I remember thinking he doesn't seem hugely happy to be here in Perth, as he said he was really missing family at the time.

Perhaps his heart really isn't in his footy because he'd rather be doing it elsewhere, but hasn't yet attractted any offers from clubs he'd like to play for over east.

I dunno - it's just a theory. His motivations are a mystery to me frankly...

Ross has made the comment that he wants to play two rucks several times this year but unfortunately they are giving him no value at all. We go in small again but I for one am really happy to see Langdon getting a go again.

Really think Apeness could be the fix we need as the back up ruck if we can get him on the park.

Agree.

We talk about players like Suban and Mayne being gifted games (usually erroneously IMHO), but our rucks are in a position where it's been laid out on a plate for them. Our clear No. 1 out indefinitely, a season where winning isn't everything, a coach who is keen to play with a 2nd ruck/fwd and only 3 players for 2 spots and it's only really been Griffin in those few weeks before he was injured who's been able to actually taken the opportunity and build with it.

Just another layer in a disappointing season.

I hope you are right but Apeness is very unproven and does not appear (on small sample) to have anything mildly resembling leaping ability and could be a liability in the centre circle, even as back-up.

He's just come back from injury. Another pre-season I think we'll get a better idea. He had a really good leap, was a good ruck and could take a strong contested grab pre-draft: http://www.afl.com.au/news/2013-11-03/apeness-looms-large

He's never had footy smarts, that didn't matter when he could run and jump around with gay abandon, but now he's lost faith in his body he's approaching uselessness, just doesn't know what to do out there
