Smith won't (or shouldn't) be playing in the backline though.
Yeah, I agree he should play forward, he's been looking pretty good there with EP. McGinnity could also provide some pace in defence, but we can throw Smith back if it looks like we are being troubled for pace in the backline (that whole versatility thing Simpson has been talking about)

None of them are agile enough with that pace to go with Green or Zorko though. So we'll end up having Butler chasing them....

Bennell would be perfect.

As much as he has poor disposal skills, Brennan is quick and agile. Still remember his chase on Franklin last year or the year before

Not actually as stupid as it sounds...

Anytime you can play the future of your club, it's highest paid player, as a super sub ruckman against one of the worst teams in the comp you've gotta do it ....

It'll be awesome if a Lecca or a mid goes down earlier and we end up with 4 ruckmen :)

Sarcasm I'm sure, but the point of the article was that we struggle to run out game (as does NN) and that to bring him on half way through the third to have an impact may be an advantage

Do I think that he will be the sub, no way, but it does have merit

No it does not. Clubs experimented with having talls as subs when the sub first came in, it was quickly found out to be the worst idea possible. I'd hope we'd have learnt from that mistake.

Really hope Cox doesn't play. Hopefully Smith and Tunners are ins and get full games. As above, Butler for sub.

At least we don't have to deal with a 7 man bench for another day...I much prefer knowing today (late changes aside).

Shut down Hanley, shut down Zorko and we win.

With the way Simpson talked about the 6 day turn around and playing youth it sounds more than likely Cox is out.

I think Wellingham is a scapegoat to be honest. He's not been terrible and he's not been at the top of his game but there are other players playing much worse.
I think that he is a skilled player but lacks that intensity at the contest.
I think it was Wellingham that Simpson was referring to when he suggested that he wanted players who put their head over the ball in the media conference.

But he's been lazy. And with that I'm happy that Simpson would play someone like McGinnity over him, especially at this stage of the season.
