What should the penalty be?

We know why

Port put winning ahead of the health and safety of their players and thought that they would get away with it.

Given that it's happened three or more times already at the same club, it's clearly not just an oversight like they're claiming it to be.
A continual pattern of behavior is what the AFL need to punish them on.

I must say so brave on the power board has been very vocal in condemning the club even though a few pear sheep thought there was “nothing to see here”.
Nah.. from all I’ve read.. on BF and around the social media sites discussing this.. the great majority of comments from power fans have been disgusted at the club‘s actions after this incident.

but yes, sobrave has been one of the most vocal.. should be commended for it too. its not always easy for most supporters to shitcan their club when they do wrong.. a lot of supporters treat their club like a loving mother does their naughty child.. act like their child can never do any wrong!

I don’t want to leap to that conclusion, it’s too serious for that

My suspicion is that the doctor was put in an unfair position, there’s an obvious conflict of interest, and the competitive situation got to him - seeing 2 players involved in the one situation, creates a serious competitive disadvantage and maybe the juices were flowing

I don’t know obviously but that’s my guess, because the interference alternatives are too ugly

I also think there was an issue (potentially) with the fact that 2 at once can’t be assessed at the same time by the same doctor, and therefore there was the risk of needing to do things sequentially which would create even more significant delays with the second player having to wait his turn.

Though it’s moot as both should have been subbed out of the game there and then under the protocol. Imo

How good would it be if the AFL took their points and we bradburyed our way into the finals like Carlton did when Essendon got banned. If we were to go on and win the flag from there, now that would be the ultimate poetic justice. I'd probably retire from Bigfooty as nothing would ever top that.

Now that they are confirmed cheats who put the welfare of their players behind beating us, what should the penalty be?

Edit and now listening to Davies they are throwing the doctor under the bus. Surely someone at the club said hang on, he needs a test.

That doctor is gonski. I wonder what his normal daytime patients think of him.

I don't want them to be fined I want there to be serious draft ramifications or point deductions. So that no team ever again does what they did.

If every team knows s**t we'll lose draft picks or premiership points if we don't do the right thing by the player then no club will then risk the safety of a player for 4 points and just say we'll cop the fine
Yep..100% in the same boat as you. They did it before and should know better now and still tried it on.

Remember when we had a few guys train together at the barossa..some vic pundits floated draft sanctions for tgat. This is levels and levels and levels worse

The Doctor will no doubt be moved on but within the industry Hinkley and Davies look the worse.

Why Hinkley doubled down after the match I'll never know. He just had to say we left it up to the Doctor.

Davies needed to overule the Doctor and say Aliir had to do the full test. Anyone with half of brain would of at a minimum left it until half time to reasses.

Im sure Port and Kane are in a meeting right now. He’s their media attack dog after all.

Imagine if he goes hard on the doctor
While they should its doubtful, I can see them not even bothering to raise this.

Karen Kornes will make sure its swept under the rug.

Not suggesting Ken had and direct influence but wonder what influence the coach being on the bench has on a doctor.

Now that their season is effectively over, can't wait for Ken to be extended and Carr to be head coach at Richmond.

Im waiting for them to be knocked out of Top 2, then its Mission Impossible stuff just to make a prelim.

What's that meme, this escalated quickly.

This is the bit I don’t get. Even if you were going to flaunt the rules, wouldn’t you wait until half time? Not suggesting putting a player in danger at any stage is acceptable. But they didn’t even try and manage the optics of what they were doing.

What would happen if Port had won?

They would have fielded an ineligible player.

Would that have been grounds to have the result overturned?
Tex should be given more goals and medals from Saturday night. :$
