Confidence levels for tonight's game? Mine isn't very high, we're not playing very well.
But hopefully with TT back, he'll change that.

Not going to be easy as these world club cup games are always tough games.

The only cup we are missing so hopefully the guys are up for it.

In my almost 20 years of supporting Chelsea, I think I've seen everything.

From a takeover, to going from being a competitive but not top-class side to sweeping the league, securing shields, doing doubles, experiencing exhilarating highs (2014/15) to cavernous lows (2015/16) and then rebounding for another round of glory (2016/17), from not even looking like winning fourth place to winning the Champions League (2011/12 - 2020/21), to winning the Super Cup and now, finally, proving ourselves as Champions of the World (2021/22).

And I wouldn't change any of it for the world - not even the lows.

It's been an utter privilege to support this great club, and I don't care what opposition fans might say - they can rest on their history, while we create history.

I don't care if this club is made from plastic, porcelain or steel, or all three at once - it's still our club, and whatever its made from, I think it's made from something truly beautiful. Something that opposition fans can never truly appreciate, and that's to their eternal sorrow.

Also, seeing Azpi lift the Club World Cup after almost 10 years serving this club symbolises the importance and rewards that come with loyalty, dedication and hard work. If he hasn't become a legend for everything he's done for us, I'll eat my hat.

Not a great record for Luk, and backs up his dreadful performance vs Plymouth. I know our game style doesn't play to his runs, but he's also not working hard enough.

Shame, as I was hoping after the World Club Championships he'd find his form again.

Surely Timo deserves another chance, he at least works hard and spreads the opposition defence.

For the amount we've spent, Lukaku will go down as one of our worst signings ever.

Even Torres provided us with some good moments, even if they were few and far between.

The most irritating thing about Lukaku is that his ability to burn defenders with his acceleration and bully them off the ball would make him a very handy super-sub against a tired defence, particuarly against the lesser sides - but he's too egotistical to accept such a role.

His off-the-ball movement, in terms of sucking defenders out of positions, is actually pretty good when he could be bothered, hence why he has a very good strike rate for upper-mid table clubs, but too often he couldn't be bothered. He seems to be too moody and too selfish to bring his best often enough, in that he doesn't collaborate well with the rest of his teammates despite actually having the theoretical ability (he's a surprisingly decent passer considering his lousy ball control) and doesn't press. The upshot is that he's too often isolated in the box, expecting service to come to him on a plate.

In a setup where you have a #10 feeding him killer balls (ala Gerrard to Torres in 2008/09) that would pass muster against most sides, but we don't have that setup, and the very best sides would have defenders who are good enough to anticipate those sorts of killer balls, and Lukaku's movement, and adjust accordingly. That Lukaku's ball control is not very good exacerbates that situation because against top defenders, you need to control the ball in tight spaces, or they'll just dispossess you.
