We’ve exceeded my 6 win projection so that’s something. There’s an irony though after 2018 we find a kicker and running back yet are no better.

Bears chairman George McCaskey confirmed GM Ryan Pace and coach Matt Nagy will be back next season.
Both will be returning without extensions. Pace is lame duck status with a deal that runs through 2021, while Nagy is signed through 2022 after agreeing to a five-year deal in 2018. McCaskey singled out quarterback play as an area the team "needs better production from to be successful." Chicago backing into the playoffs bought the Bears' current power structure another year to turn things around. Pace and Nagy will be on the spot again in 2021.

The McCaskey's are genuinely shit owners. Make bad signings then are too tight to pay out contracts when it becomes apparent they are a mistake.
Nagy and Pace ( in particular ) surviving the axe speaks volumes of how tight they are and how little winning means to them in the overall grand scheme of things.

To be fair....Nagy cops a lot of shit but he hasnt been THAT bad. His three years have been ok, its worse to constantly fire and hire HCs every two or three years. Give him time to develop. Definitely not a Gase or McDaniels, those guys get exposed in 1-3 years and ought to be fired.
Pace hasnt been great, but not abysmal. His contract will run out and theyll find a new promising FO guy.

Desai, the first person of Indian descent to become a coordinator in the league, has actually been with Chicago longer than coach Matt Nagy, joining the franchise in 2013 as a quality control assistant. Desai was promoted to safeties coach in 2019 and was honed in on as an internal replacement for retired DC Chuck Pagano from the very beginning, additionally working as Vic Fangio’s right-hand man for four years. It's an interesting, close-knit, and deserving hire ahead of the 2021 season.

He gave up play-calling duties to offensive coordinator Bill Lazor last November with the team in an offensive quagmire. The Bears were 29th in scoring and offensive yardage when Nagy relinquished play calling to Lazor. They finished the season 26th in yardage and 22nd in scoring. Nagy will look to rediscover the formula that made him one of the NFL's premiere up-and-coming head coaches three short years ago, this time with Andy Dalton under center.

McCaskeys just happy banking the huge money the bears make despite the lack of success. It’s not gonna change anytime soon unless they get Russ in FA and make some other sizable changes

Not sure there’ll be a decent QB at our pick. Then we have other gaping holes ( O Line wide receivers ect ect ) to repair its going to take a large makeover
