I doubt Essendon or Richmond are really interested in Knights. I also doubt Knights himself, is going to go to a club still in rebuild mode (Richmond) & one without a coach & in need of a complete overhaul (Essendon) for an extra $100 K / year.

I think we'll offer him 2 bottom 1st Round Picks for him.
That would probably be acceptable - 2x picks between 16-25.

Craigy said we want fast outside midfielders who can run and carry. I don't see much we would want other then Jetta but that is still a long way off the mark. I would think we would only want pick 8 in all seriousness.

Winderlich or even Houli fits the bill? If not then move along because pick 8 is out of the question.

No way would we give up our first pick, especially for a HHF. Yes Knights is a good player but we need inside mids so our first rounder is off the table. I'd do our second rounder and a fringe player (e.g. Houli, Lovett-Murray, Dyson :p). Depends if the crows would accept that though.

Wait your turn Essendon fans.

We get in the queue earlier.

Bad luck.:D

What'd you trade for Mark Williams again?

Fourth Rounder or something?

Arghh you're tesing my knowledge now. It was a complicated trade but IIRC we gave up Nash, pick 16 & pick 40ish?? and got Williams, pick 24 and 33.

Someone help out I'm sure I'v stuffed up somewhere. Why'd you wanna know anyway?

Just curious to know what you gave up for an old, injury prone hack.

The circumstances were much different. Williams was recruited for his experience and goal kicking ability due to the departures of Lloyd and Lucas, and yes it hasn't worked out so far but at the time it seemed right. Williams and Knights are much different players as well. I'm trying to be realistic here and have a meaningful discussion, if you're gonna be a smart ass then **** off to the bay.

I'm simply letting you know you're not getting pick 8 but you're so thick headed that you don't get it. If you're not willing to accept anything else then move on because we sure as hell arn't giving up a top 10 pick for a injury prone forward who's had one decent year.

Gee whiz. Once Knights is fit and firing again, you'll wish you'd given pick 8 up for him. Give you the strong tip on that. Tough year with injury is the only thing that has prevented that from being a reality this year.

I really hope the Dogs make a play for Knights.

I suspect Minson, Everitt and Hill are possible players that could be traded. None of them would secure Knights alone, but they could be apart of other deals to gain picks to throw at the Crows.

Compensation for Harbrow may also be used. We have a bit to play with IMO - but it depends what rival clubs are willing to offer.

Considering you started the insults, can I suggest you're clueless?

If you could read, you'd note I've said he isn't worth #8, but that if you want him, you'll need to use pick #8, because there are 2-3 other Clubs who will take him before you get another chance to. He's worth pick 10-15, comfortably; you don't have that, the closest you have is #8.

No need to spit the dummy about Williams, either, Knights is a better player, less of a headcase, younger and realistically less injury prone, yet you're saying that was a fair trade for you that didn't work out, but Knights wouldn't be worth anywhere near that?

PSD; Lulz.

That's correct, the pick was 42.

Man you Adelaide supporters sure are deslusional, in what way does he deserve a pick in the 10-145 range comfartably? hes played 75 games in 5 seasons and had 1 GOOD season last year and missed the bulk of this season through injury.

You came onto the Richmond board saying he has had Stress Fractures in his foot, a Broken Eye Socket, and some Soft Tissue injuries, now unless im not mistaken they are quite alot of injuries for a young player.

Geez even even Tambling has had 1 good year and was taken at pick 4, hes now had some hip injuries along with compartment syndrome, but us people living in reality know that he is not even worth a first round pick.

Any recruiter would be stupid to give up there first rounder for him, his worth would be a second round pick say 25 + player or there abouts.

I'd be happy to get 12-18 or a player and 2nd rounder. His a gun player when up and running his not been on park much this year. But he'll be fine next year.

Knights is a 4th round draft pick from 2004. He has played 75 of a possible 142 games. He has had 2 reasonable seasons 2007 where he averaged 23 disposals a game over 22 games and 2009 where he kicked 43 goals from 20 games. His other 4 seasons have netted 5, 16, 10 & 2 games. To me that suggests he is a bloke who either struggles to get on the field with injuries or is inconsistant.

For mine he is worth a pick in the 18-30 range. This is where the top teams who might be interested in him as player that could make the difference will be picking, while the lower placed sides that would be interested won't be keen on trading out a top first round pick in a compromised draft.

Can we cut out the injury issues, FFS? He didn't play in his first year because Craig doesn't play kids, and 16 games in his second year is an enormous amount for a kid to get in our system. He was fantastic in 2006, 2007 and 2009. A couple of injury issues in 2008, but nothing dramatic - this year is his only one where injuries have been problematic.

Finally someone with some clue. 5 games in his first year is a HUGE achievement in Craig's teams especially considering that in 2005 and 2006 were were flying and had a veteran heavy teams.

The fact that he managed 5 games in 2005 and 16 in 2006 for a veteran heavy team that was wining majority of its games is testament to just how well Knights has been playing since day one.

Rubbish. He was a fringe midfielder who could accumulate disposals without doing much with it. He has had one standout year, when he was moved up forward and has been injured since.

First of all I never insulted you and if I did it was never my intention. You're the one who insulted us about picking up Mark Williams for what we did, because of that can I suggest you're clueless?

I've simply been saying from the start that there is no chance you could get pick 8 for Knights yet you keep on coming back saying that you wouldn't except anything less. If that wasn't confusing enough you've now said that Knights isn't worth pick 8 but the only way we'd get him is if we give up pick 8  Do you understand how ridiculous you sound? You Adelaide are supporters are so delusional is laughable, Knights is injury prone as shown by his latest season AND Knights has had one good season, in 2009, with many people (including Adelaide supporters) suggesting he was a fringe player before that. If Craig asks us for pick 8 we'd laugh in his face and rightfully so, he's no where near worth that. If you're gonna be stubborn by not even discussing the other options with our first rounder not being available then I'm done waisting my breath, move along and hassle other clubs supporters.

really dont give a rats what opposition supporters think of Knighters value, I really want him to stay with us. Our team is a much better team with him in it..
