Speculation Christian Petracca [UFA 2029]

I just can't see how any trade gets done. There's a bit of buyer beware with him, he's on a million a year and is at the wrong end of 20. On top of that, Melbourne would be wanting two firsts, which I dont know who has that from a big Vic club.

Nearly dies, forced to play alongside drug addict/s, why would he want to play for such a terrible club? Potentially better off retired than returning.

Gotta feel for this bloke, has done it all for Dees, gets treated like this when drug pigs at the club get special treatment.

Players turn on him after not being informed he was away for mental health reasons due to the horror injury he sustained.

Melbourne then leak crap like Brand Petracca.

Club is a disgrace.

Hard to see him staying. But there has been precedent for players requesting a trade and staying - and end up happy.

Still - Trac and Cripps in the middle would be like using cheat codes.

This situation is completely different, none of those players almost died.

That can change a person.

If all being said is true Dees only have to look at Ablett and Franklin to know he wont hurt too much and yes the dees can ask for two 1st rounders and if trac really wants out he may not get to a club of his preference.

I've seen TDK's name mentioned a couple of times. If he and Carlton were happy to part ways, I'd imagine he'd look at coming to Geelong instead of Melbourne. We'd have some sort of spot open for him (Stanley almost certainly retiring and Conway battling injuries).

I wonder if something like:

Carlton give TDK (Geelong) and first rounder (Melbourne)
Cats give first rounder (Melbourne)
Dees give Petracca (Carlton)

could be worked out?

Moore nearly killed him. Not sure he will want to be play with the guy with the smoking gun.

Yeah mate Moore is out on bail currently.

Trac was staying as of last week.

Does anyone think its a coincidence he may have changed his tune on Mad Monday/a weekend his team's season ended on a Friday night?
Post-season event is tomorrow.

"Tell him he's dreamin"

John Noble is just vacating number 9 for Christian Petracca, he has always been the ultimate team man.

tdk is worth a whole lot more than geelongs first rounder

I mean, throw some other picks or players around, but as a very broad arrangement I don't think it's too bad.

I don't see "mid/late first rounder + TDK" as massive overs for Petracca. Doesn't seem any worse than "mid/late first + McKay" which many people were throwing around.
Late first [+ include possible extras here] is fair enough for TDK.
Melbourne might feel two late-ish firsts is a bit unders, but in the circumstances they might be happy to take that and run.

I was told by multiple people that Gary Pert was the biggest problem at Collingwood,

Eddie was the only person he got along with.

He created problems and relationship breakdowns and was never wrong, always blaming someone else.

Once the club got rid of him (he was given the option leave or be sacked) the club improved dramatically on and off the field.

He was described as a cancer in an internal review that was done from an outside company.

I'm absolutely amazed he is still at Melbourne, I'm amazed he has any role in the AFL.

Not a big fan of some of the media pile on. Things and people can change, big life events can often brings these on.

Like it would be insane if you didn't absolutely re think everything after being in critical condition with your loved ones scared for your life.

I know I would and yet the media are throwing words like selfish. Please, give it a rest.

I don't get anyone talking down his value really. The dude's 28 and an absolute jet. Did his performance drop out for the team implode around him? Performances after he got injured suggest the latter

Why are they throwing words like "selfish"? Is there behaviour or actions that could be considered selfish?

He's pretty extraordinary the old Pert. He saw premierships at both Collingwood and Melbourne but soiled the club the years after that both flags are easily forgotten in the midst of what was going on. Should be shown the door ASAP
