Here we have a forward that cannot kick a goal to save his life.. about as useful as a gun without bullets.

he was okay today around the ground, but he is a forward. he cannot kick goals. this makes him pretty much useless to us moving forward.

we should shop him around.. see what we can get for him.. Bulldogs need a big forward and have plenty of midfielders to part with.. maybe we can structure a deal for ryan griffen so we can well and truly pack o'bree's bags? win win for all involved..

Clokey was good today, get off his back...

He works around the ground very well and there is no way in the world the club would ever put him up for trade...

why dont we trade Heath Shaw, or another very important player in our set-up!!!!

Travis Cloke will be a very good player for the Collingwood footy club...imagine where St. Kilda would have been today had they traded Riewoldt when he was 21-22 because he was missing shots for goal....Go back and watch the tapes!!!

As for Shane O'Bree, been great servant coming to the end of his career. Let him retire gracefully after giving everything he had. Certainly not the most gifted player, but got every ounce out of is ability...at the very least give him credit for it!!!

Four goal assists, though, consider that for a second considering the scoreboard.

Kicking for goal is a massive concern, though. May as well just spend the entire pre-season starting again with his right boot.

because heath shaw actually does his job and does it well..

travis cloke has had a shocking year. lets not forget this.

for 3 months he barely got his hands on the ball..

this has improved over the past 2 months but once he gets his hands on the ball in the forward line you can almost pencil in the behind (i only say almost cause he sometimes fails to register a score)

if travis cloke is a very important player in our set up then there is something wrong with our set up...

I'm open to the idea of trying him down back but i can't see that happening..

he's been getting about 250,000 credits for it every year..

letting players who arent 'gifted' as you say retire gracefully is not how you win flags.. you obviously dont want to win one..

Cloke was fantastic today. Rocca released him up the ground where he should be. He is terrible in front of goal, that won't change, but he can't be played deep anymore.

Yeah yeah gotta agree with this ..

While we are at it, i've actually heard word that Dane Swan, Leon Davis and Harry O'Brien are also up for trade ....

To the creator of this thread ...

Don't be a stupid F***-Wit

Maybe he and Fraser should swap positions. He could be a decent hard bodied ruckman to work the opposition over with Wood coming on being much taller but still having great mobility. Fraser could kick a few goals a game as a permanent forward.

Either that or put him at CHB. He has all of the attributes for it (the pace size, ability to read the plan and the strength - his field kicking is usually quite good).

You don't trade talented father-son types with the eariler career that Cloke has had. They are the types who become the heart and soul of the club and demand and give loyalty. There maybe some mitigating circumstances for Cloke this year ... he was destroyed emotionally by being belted (or so I am lead to believe) and he had his house shot or something like that.

He is too wasteful to play deep in the forward line but there are many other positions that he can play that would benefit Collingwood immensely.

thank you for proving my point.

rocca won't be there next year to release him up the ground.

Well how about we just play Jack and Medhurst deep, and tell Cloke to play the role he should be playing? Who says we need to pack tall forwards into the goal square?

Would never get value as a trade but playing him at CHB or wing is a better idea.

We have plenty of small forwards, thats our trade bait zone.

thats right genius... take the personal attack ath when you don't have anything to contribute to this discussion..

You're kidding aren't you. Our best lead up forward playing in the hardest position on the ground. Name one CHF in the history of the game who played well every week of their career.

The reality is this. CHF straighten sides up, good ones are hard to get and take time. We've got a good one...the rest of the competition now it..

By the way..look at the tapes...Cloke misses from 30 metre because he leans back and drops the ball fom above his waist, all he needs to do is straighten himself up, head over when he kicks and kick throught the ball...it's actually quite fixable!!! and a problem a lot of taller players have...you notice his field kicking is normally solid.

Travis Cloke is never going to be a good shot for goal. NEVER.

We have a key forward who is more likely to miss from anywhere outside the goal square and depending on the angle and side, 'aint even a monty from there.

After a brilliant piece of play by Heater where he well and truly put his body on the line the ball ended up with Cloke. Deep in the pocket on his wrong side. Now, I for one did not expect him to kick the goal but to not even register a score was pathetic.

Don't even get me started on his miss from 15, practically directly in front.

I would certainly put him on the table and see what we can get. If he has some currency let's ship him off and let his "booming" left foot becomes some other teams problem.

Forwards are supposed to kicks goals.Cloke cant, simple as that.

Must be discouraging for his team-mates to seem him continuly undo their hard work by missing simple shots from 30m out

Its not even laughable anymore how bad his goal kicking is.Its embarassing to him and our coaching staff

Move him to the backline where he could go alright with his pace and marking ablity or **** him off

presti started as a forward too and MM soon fixed that. Why not Cloke?

Name 5 games this year he's dominated like a good CHF should.

I don't know if it's mental issues or what but Cloke has been rubbish this year and i cannot understand why he's still in. I would really like to see N Brown play his role.

Would have been amongst Maxwell, Shaw, Swan and L Brown as our best players today. I can't for the life of me figure out why you'd want to trade him.

it's not about playing well. it's about being damaging.

he did play well today. but he wasnt damaging. and while he is one of our forward targets he never will be damaging because he simply can't finish.

he took 13 marks today. and kicked 0.2 (and 1 OOF)

if that had have been 13 marks and 2.1 for example, i would not have a problem with him. but he never looked like scoring ANY of his shots.

he is a liability when he marks inside 50. when he marked and handballed to davis i was thankful that he had someone running past for the handball.

when he dropped a mark inside forward 50 and set one up for rocca i was greatful that he dropped the mark (even before the ball ended up with rocca. the ball is better on the ground in our forward line then in clokes hands)

you simply cannot have a forward that bad in front of goal and expect to succeed.

Like a good CHF should,

Just give me a definition of what a good CHF is, then go back and re-think that comment!!!!

More to the point, please go and name the best CHF from each club that are better than Cloke (because I think there are only three at this stage -Riewoldt, Brown and Pavlich - see Buddy as a FF).

As for the five games, you obviously watch a fair bit of footy, why dont you do it for all us...look forward to your response and more importantly, your solution for what happens when Travis Cloke is dropped or traded!!!!
