Jesus you crap on and on

better than believing the AFL is trying to create fake crowd noise so people believe GWS have a big crowd there

I mean FFS, it was 90k+ richmond people. they could have had the amps from Spinal Tap and it wouldnt have changed shit

stop being paranoid and accept it was a dud attempt at bringing home game atmosphere to the G, and not a conspiracy

Oh is that what I think, as I said you go on and on about nothing turning everything into some sort of unnecessary explanation that nobody needs or wants.

Let’s not pretend for a second that rfctiger74 isn’t completely full of shit and self importance:p
But in this instance he is completely correct and even used evidence to back it up!
The AFL doesn’t have a agenda to stop us, WTF would they? They’re a money making business first and foremost before being a sporting competition and we are just about the biggest cash cow they’ve got, if they were to conspire to do anything it would be to keep us at the top.

The point is i didn't say there was a agenda, he created that thought in his own mind

who said this then??

The AFL had a microphone in the GWS cheer squad for the prelim
I know it was there for the horn but it also picked up the cheers as we heard it through the P.A near us.
They had the mike running longer than the horn moment

why were the afl deliberately running it longer than the horn moment if not due to my explanation, or to capture the crowd noise. Look forward to your explanation of your opinion :)

I’m no audiophile but I noticed 3 differences:
1. ‘land’ in Tigerland lingers on a bit - prob due to profesh singers
2. the banjo bit in between verses (which was almost my favourite bit) is lower in volume, just has a short flurry at end
3. yellow and black - I can hear RICHO and KB shouting. That’s an improvement.

Verdict for me - prefer the original, though the y &b shout is ok (if not a bit gimmicky and unnecessary.
TBH the y&b doesn’t need to be emphasised as the crowd adds that it’s other parts that are lacking that make this version a little second rate

I think they used a MIDI keyboard preset for both the bass and horns.

They're not real instruments and you can hear it.

It's a lazy and cheap recording.
The entire thing was made electronically, which doesn't work when it's a straight cover of a song performed with actual instruments and not even a remix.

Were the drums recorded on keyboard too?

If so, and the club is desperate for an updated version despite 100% of fans voting against it, then they need to use real instruments instead of some guy playing around on Garageband at home.

This is a cheap, home job.

100% of fans don't want it.

I've never in my life been more disappointed in the club over something they're chosen to do.

So I thought I’ve heard this recording before years ago. Back in 2007 Coventry City FC in England had this unsuccessful song. Don’t think it lasted long. Sky Blue Land.

This has the same singers and pretty much similar everything else. I don’t think this ‘new’ recording was done recently.

Makes me think that the club was just waiting to sneak it in and what a perfect time when everyone is still high from a premiership.

So it doesn’t matter that the whole song has changed because at the footy you won’t notice it anyway, but happy that it’s changed to shin which is far less noticeable

I hope this is satire....
The audible warmth and reverb of a track is much less discernible when a track is played in a stadium with crowd sounds.
If we can’t sing the song well enough to make up for a little old timey warmth and fuzz then I guess we don’t deserve it.

You can change the dynamics of a song with the atmosphere of the environment and crowd additions but you can’t change a word in the lyrics no matter how loud you sing it!!

You can use a midi keyboard for anything and I highly doubt they would only use it for some instruments and not others.
Garageband, on the iPad at least, allows you to play instruments right in the app.

Yeh..nah

I’m probably in a select minority here, but I couldn’t care less that they re-recorded the club songs.
I’m happy they corrected skin to shin.

It’s not going to change the way I sing it after a win.
