Yeah I know. But what do you think about the club still running with it as opposed to Collingwood?
Baffling...disappointing...especially in the light of it's successful Corporate professionalism of the past year...
Especially in the light of the Team's so-called 'connection'...
What about acknowledging the Club and the Fans 'çonnection' too...in regards to the Club's Song!

Exactly what I think.
Think they’ve read this one very poorly. Will be interesting to see if it stays.

A Brazilian club, América (from Rio de Janeiro), shares Richmond's song. Here, two versions:

The classic version (by the Martial Band of Rio de Janeiro's Firemen Corps):

And from the 90's, by Tim Maia:

The club risks ruining this occasion if they play the new crap. Many fans will be disenchanted and won't sing along or may even boo the song. Some say it's a storm in a teacup but something like this could create some serious negative energy. Do we want that to flow into the game as well?
Enough with the hysteria, most people won't even notice, its not that different.

So no issue with the club here? You can’t be serious.
The mind boggles, it would have cost SFA to record these songs, the AFL says you can use these if you like, but you don’t have too.
Yet somehow this is the AFLs fault that we are choosing to use the new recording.

How lazy are the lyrics? Haha
This
-"like the tiger of old, we're strong and we're bold for we're from tiger - yellow and black - for we're from tigerland "

Becomes
-" lalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalala" :D

After one round, you might be right.

However, this song will be played by supporters a million times for decades.

The weak MIDI keyboard presets for drums, bass, and horns, combined with the theatrical vibrato low vocals will, over time, become increasingly obvious.

MIDI samples are fake sounding and lack passion, feel, etc.

Have you heard a real horn section? It’s the richest sound in music.

Real horns vs MIDI samples is like the difference between puffing your chest out or breaking out into a choreographed dance routine.

Listen to the bass. It’s not played by real human fingers, it’s a button on a keyboard.

Upon one listen, you might not feel the difference, but I promise you - over time you’ll find yourself feeling like it’s just missing something... because it is.

I don’t care about the concept of old vs new. This is not a generic “stop changing the game” emotion.
