No you aren't. You're making yourself look silly. Sayers has done everything quite well so far, no leaks, powerful stance, enacting a plan to rebuild a department which clearly failed.
...and go to appoint a coach who fails the Board's own RESPECT policy...Well done. He has been on the Board since 2012, but ofcourse it is someone else's fault.

Some people have a negative view on most things in life.

Some people choose to focus on the pessimistic rather than the positive, it can become very tiresome to have to trudge through.

I think we know who the long term posters who do this are, its the johhny come lately's and the sleeper accounts that only pop up every so often to agitate that grind my gears.
And some people get off on being controversial and sparking a response.
Perhaps its a "be naughty fetish".
They should go and buy some leather gear and tie themselves up for a spanking.

Sorry, so you think this is a good thing, after Sayers told everyone there would be no more changes?

Sayers didn’t say that.

At the press conference where Teague’s sacking was announced, he said specifically said “right here, right now” there were no more sackings.

On 3aw on Friday he said nothing is assured in life.

The media narrative is geared towards stretching a story out as far as it can go, even if it means neglecting truth.

By the by, I find it fascinating that people hold journalists as some kind of godly experts even though they don’t actually make the “hard decisions” and are not experts in what they’re talking about. They fire pot shots from the sideline and are happy to misconstrue things to sell a story.

He has already stuffed up this process by ignoring the Boards own RESPECT policy. Cain Liddle pretended he had no idea what the journalist was asking when he asked whether Lyon was the right person for the job, hoping there would be no follow-up question. There wasn't which was really weak of the journalist.
This Game of Thrones has to end. I have zero confidence in Sayers as he has painted himself into a corner.
No Clarkson, Buckley and realistically no Lyon, as he may be forced out of contention. Who do they then appoint???
If I was them I would be dragging this out as long as possible to get all the bad media on Ross out there and dealt with which it has -- Eddie nailed that respects stuff last week rest of them frightened to go against him -- ..
If we expect they haven't been working on replacements for all positions during this review we are naive or they are incompetent .. outside looking in a few have said Lyon would be coaching even before review started -- if I was the board I would of been planning to reset everyone after collingwood round 2-- conceded 70odd inside 50 against tigers then got royally opened up by a collingwood side that was below standard .
I have more faith in a guy who has sat on a board of 8 indivuals ( many changes along the way ) did his job - bided his time - then when it was his turn made wholesale changes - than a group of upstarts saying let's change ..

I'm already a bit concerned about Sayers brash style, prefer my club presidents to STFU and do their work undercover. Hope this all doesn't become too nepotistic.
I didnt see him as brash at all TBW, i thought more focused and in charge.

Do you understand what the RESPECT policy is -- do you truly believe life is built around one incident leads to the totality of ones character -- it's about creating awareness -- probably as far as the RESPECT program goes Ross should get the job as he has lived it and changed as can others ..
spin something else you might get silk -

I think it makes a great change to have someone who seems willing to stand up for the club in the media and be vocal about his plans. MLG should have been known as MIA.

What has he done out in the open that should have been done "undercover"?
To me he seems to be in the Maguire/Kennett family of Presidents and I think he's already chosen our next coach, but lets pretend otherwise. Time will tell whether he can harmonize our football and admin areas, which is his role isn't it?

Well Richmonds Board managed to chew gum, make a profit, increase membership to over 100K and win three flags, but hey what would we know, they haven't sacked a coach in over a decade.
It had to be you
Oh Moody Blue.;)

Are you going for board takeover OMB?

What if Mick is right about our board? Would you prefer to pot him and let them get away with their antics and destroy another coach and waste another rebuild.
Or perhaps listen to what he says and demand change. FWIW I don't think Vince and co are the answer

We are getting change and we have had change. Is it your contention that the remaining 4 board members are the ones responsible for our history of sacking coaches, just because they have been there for some and perhaps voted accordingly?

2 of those have only been there for 1-3 years.

So basically Mick wants anybody that was on the board when he got the chop to go.

Seems strange that people are now putting everything on Luke Sayers and Craig Mathieson. Trigg, MLG and McKay have gone. If we just weed out those last 2 board members, everything will be good again? Or is the boardroom that contains ghosts that is the problem?

Or is just the impatience of powerbrokers and our supporters who pay money to endure this painful ride?

You upend the board with all newbies - upend all management -- how many players of any quality will a manager allow to stay.... all these full board petitions are nothing but distraction -

If mike Fitzpatrick went to any carlton board I want to be heard he would be on it ... people like him don't need a revolution to run the club

We are getting change- sure. But MM was saying this years ago, that this needed to happen. It was too easy to attribute his comments as not relevant, the self interested rantings of a coach that many didnt like. I am not a MM apologist , but I am able to see his point.
BB had too much class to make similar comments , and DT it seems, was simply pushed too far by the combined media/ clubland narrative, and wanted to push back a bit on the comments being made about him.
Pagan has been critical as well. And Ratts was not a fan.

I get it, this is a dog eat dog industry and the coaches know this when they enter the coaching fray, they can get paid extraordinary money and enjoy the adulation, but also can get to taste the other side of the coin. So I dont necessarily feel sorry for any coach that gets the sack- its part of life.

What I do object to, as a supporter, is the boards obsession with instant results, the sort of results, that once were attainable via the use of a big brown paper bag, and the fact that we were a destination club. The hawks and richmond and now melbourne are showing the way in how to gain success. Show faith in the coach that you have and back him up.

its incredibly destabilising to be constantly changing philosophy and game plan, that inevitably comes with a change of coach. List management becomes harder as well, as new coaches see different strengths and weaknesses on the list that they inherit.

I have no idea whether more change need to happen wrt the board. I will leave that up to Sayers. But what I do know , is that merely dismissing micks comments because you dont like him, is not imo the best way to go

IMO Sayers has given Liddle the chance to show he is on board with his vision. There has been harsh feedback given, but the mark of a man is how he responds. If he responds negatively, then CL knows he is gone. If he buys in, then well and good and Sayers probably has an ally for life. There is no doubt CL has some very positive aspects , that have led to some great financial numbers, but it his extracurricular stuff that has got him offside

I more or less see it that Sayers is making him and Lloyd actually work if/until Their replacements are found as per his comments that they’re going to have to do a mountain of work to implement the reviews recommendations... I like it. Looks Like they’ve been mucking around in things that don’t concern them for too long and rocking up and getting their wage with little accountability. Sayers making them accountable is furthest from a bad thing

Mick is still saying it after the changes. He has an axe to grind.

I'll cop that the board have made the wrong selections or more to the point appointed the wrong people for selection panels since the board themselves don't know what a good coach looks like.

The issue for Mick and others is that the board keep sacking them when things are going badly. I guess the issue is, if it look like we are going backwards and are dispirited, how do we correct that with the same coach? The answer for mine is having strong footy people within the club that have some power to tell the coach it has to change.

I reckon Diesel won't mind telling anyone, and a strong footy boss has to come in.

Starting to think OMB might be Synners.

Well, it was always his modus operandi to get boards spilled. Big on the Unofficial Selection Committee who felt they were superior supporters and were staunch Elliott backers.

You may be right.
