So, with a little over a month to go in the season, which head coaches are toast or are close to being toast at the end of the season?

Reid in Philly (Eagle fans are praying)
Turner in San Diego
Spags in St Louis
Shanahan in Washington
Frasier in Minnesota

Any others?

Re: NFL Coaches on the hot seat

As hard as I try I fail to construct any scenario that will see Reid at the Eagles next year, which is sad in many ways because there's no doubt he is a talented coach that probably deserved a ring & he may well get the chance to snag one elsewhere, but this is broke & needs to be fixed.

No he is not a good coach at all, in fact one of the worst in the league. The Eagles would've won multiple superbowls in the last 10 years if they had a decent coach.

And why's that?

Re: NFL Coaches on the hot seat

Surely Reid is gone with so much expected of the "Dream Team" Eagles prior to the season.

Turner must get the boot from San Diego, they fired Marty for less than what Norv has failed to achieve with the Chargers.

I think Caldwell is gone too - but I think there may be a chance he survives depending on how much the loss of Manning hurt, but I've seen worse teams perform better when their star goes down.

Didn't really consider Del Rio until seeing this thread, but I think he's worn out his welcome at Jacksonville.

Can't see Shanahan or Frasier going this season, they are in rebuild mode.

Re: NFL Coaches on the hot seat

Caldwell from Indy not getting a mention??

Peyton Manning coaches and runs this team and it is showing this year.

Suddenly Manning is not there and Caldwells coaching ability really gets put under the microscope and Indy have been terrible this year and he has been let off very lightly IMO and 1 player does not make you go from Superbowl contender to 0-16 no matter how good you are.

Peyton being injured has really highlighted the weakness in Caldwells coaching ability.

Re: NFL Coaches on the hot seat

Notice BSPN has Tom Coughlin in the hot seat if NY have another late season collapse. Feels as though people have been trying to get him fired for a few years now.

This, despite the fact that the team has played beyond itself, given injuries et al.

You wouldn't think this was the same media that dubbed them 6-10 at seasons end at best.

The media putting Coughlin on the hot seat and their preseason prediction for the Giants' record are not necessary mutually exclusive.

Heh true.

Who's out there that would be an appropriate replacement though? Giants fans ask for Cowher, but I doubt he goes to such a foundation 4-3 D (And I would like to keep it that way :p)

Such a ridiculous troll from one of their own. This is why no one takes Philly or their fans seriously.

Reid is still one of the best in the league. That DOESN'T mean his time isn't up though. Sometimes coaches just have to move on for the benefit of both sides.
