All jokes aside. Is there anyone that is getable to be our senior coach that can make a difference in the short term. I may be delusional but with some key inclusions I don't think we are too far off with a healthy list from playing finals.
Clarkson is the only one I can think off especially when you consider the senior players at Hawthorn that may follow him out the door, we could see a situation where Clarko comes up and we trade several picks for some Hawks stars, I.e. Mitchell, gunston, mcevoy.

Clarkson's head might explode if he coaches us.:fire::fire::fire::fire::fire:

Dew so far has tried, Jake Lloyd, Jarryd Roughead, Shaun Burgoyne all at no success, maybe a few more from Sydney/Hawthorn.

Josh Kennedy from WCE was meant to join us last trade period this was the one the club was dirty on - he had committed to a move and then backed out last minute. The mind boggles at how good our forward line would’ve been with Kennedy and how much of a difference it would’ve made for us having a proven experience body like his up forward. IMO our forward line is where we struggle most it goes in there but comes straight back out 80% of the time.

He would of been perfect, hope we try again. Only need him for 1-2 more years onfield.

McLure saying AFL senior figures were pushing Chris Scott to coach the Suns. The rumour mill in overdrive
Caro also saying she believes next year there will be a new coach and footy manager

Gary Lyon tonight talking about us was damning for Dew.

“It comes back to coaching and structure and young kids who looked, at times, lost and bereft of any idea about what they were supposed to do.”

Yeah thats pretty damning if you're talking about structure and coaching.

If there’s any truth at all that senior figures at AFL HQ were pushing for Chris Scott, then it’s curtains for Dew regardless. A lot of journos saying the AFL would pay outside the soft cap as an ambassador role. There’ll be an offer too good to refuse for a big name coach.

Being linked with the best coaches in the AFL is bet

No smoke without fire.

I'm going to give you guys the final redpill. The ultimate truth:

The best coach for the Gold Coast would be Michael Voss.

This is a guy who understands the Queensland football, and has legendary stature within the state. He was part of a hugely successful era with Brisbane, and was part of an all-time great winning culture.

Yes, he botched the Brisbane trade period of 2009, but the writing was already on the wall by then. Brisbane's successful era was long since over, and they were always going to be set for a stint at the bottom. A lot of people actually thought his sacking in 2013 was unfair because they were showing promise that year; it turned out it was because the Brisbane board made a desperate, utterly idiotic play for Paul Roos.

Voss has since gone onto coach the Port Adelaide midfield, and he's overseen their transformation into one of the best midfields in the AFL. He very clearly wants another shot at being a senior coach too. Do not underestimate the second chance effect.

The Gold Coast's midfield had plenty of talent, but they're not quite performing. Would it not make sense to hire one of the greatest midfielders of all time, who was also one of the best leaders of all time, who was also part of one of the greatest teams of all time, who is currently in charge of one of the best midfields in the competition.

Forget about dinosaurs like Chris Scott and Alistair Clarkson. What did Paul Roos do for Melbourne? They just played boring, uninspiring football for 3 years until Goodwin took over. Clarkson isn't a magic fix-it all solution, and Scott absolutely isn't.
Chris Scott was in that same team as Voss..
As for him being a dinosaur, he's actually younger than Voss..
I don't particularly like the guy, but 9 years out of 10 has had Geelong into the finals.
