Pardon my ignorance but who is George Stone

From the AFL Coaches Assc. Profile.

George Stone is Melbourne's midfield and strategy coach and is regarded as one of the AFL's most respected and experienced football mentors.

Stone, who was an integral part of Hawthorn's golden era in the 1980s and early 1990s, later became a key component in the Sydney Swans' drought-breaking premiership in 2005 under Paul Roos. He was also part of John Longmire's coaching panel for the Swans' 2012 flag.

In 2013, Stone was rewarded with the lifetime achievement award for his contribution to the game. He is also a life member of Hawthorn and the Sydney Swans.

I'm happy if Dew is happy he could be the catalyst for his change but i do get the impression his rise in form came with the pressure of being out of contract

So basically just like Aaron Hall

got a bit of a hint we are working on getting A Swallow

Not sure how I feel about this, its unclear what he brings. I know he is a former captain and has a great deal of experience but he has never been quick or a good kick and looked cooked this year. What do you think he offers thurls64

I think it would be risky and more likely to have downside, would prefer Gibson that just got delisted from North, played 130 games straight

Need a couple of older heads with big bodies just for a year or two to let outlet young guys actually develop before making them full time mids. Players like Swallow would also provide great leadership. Really like the Bartel option to if he is keen to stay on as an assistant
