I think there is some predictability to this season, actually wish the Tournament was not the most likely finale but done earlier.

I presume all the first 9 episodes will be the lead up to the Tournament.

It will be interesting as to how they introduce potentially Swank into the series, to date Daniel has not mentioned her at all.

Maybe she provides a female guidance for Sam???

Season 5 is almost done filming (update 3 weeks ago). Hopefully at the end of season 4 we get a season 5 teaser. We could potentially have season 5 airing 3-4 months after season 4, it shouldn’t require too much post-production.

IIRC S3 was only delayed because of the pandemic, by that I mean it was ready and set to be released in May 2020, but they decided to push the date to Jan 1 to gain maximum attention.

If I am not mistaken S4 would have been actually delayed as a direct result of not being able to film??

Yes youre correct S5 is ready to go. A teaser for s5 would be awesome way to end s4. A teaser of Mike Barnes or Julie would be awesome.

They may revert back to their "normal" release date of May 2022 for S5 which would be much better. Helps with momentum of the show too.

They acquired the rights in June, in which they could have shown Cobra Kai then.

They delayed it till Jan 1 to maximize viewing audience.

thats one interpretation. Another is that larusso starts the series giving johnny a free car repair cos they are old friends With some friendly gentle ribbing.

johhny returns the favour by drawing a dick on his head on the giant billboard.

This is what is so brilliant about the show, the way the characters and plot are written, many people/fans can take or interpret it in different ways.

In many ways, I think the modern Larusso has betrayed his mentor and all he stood for as a person

Im not 100% sure Daniel knew his daughter was responsible for the accident when he offered Johnny free car repairs.

that still leaves out daniel being a good bloke for giving him free car service. Hell you dont even need to give freebies to be a good bloke. and it was gentle ribbing. You are overplaying that angle just a tad.
 
Watched Cocktail yesty.

Tom Cruise looks a lot like Robbie in that with his expressions, then he picks up Elizabeth Shue, and she sweeps his leg. Johnny must've taught her.
 
Started watching this a month or so ago having never seen Karate Kid. ****ing love it. We've now watched KK 1 and 2, and will watch the third before this drops.

Interested to hear your thoughts more, this was one of those shows I used an example of how to revive an old franchise right, during the whole Star Wars shitfights.

The fourth film with Hilary Swank is canon to the Cobra Kai story (everything with Miyagi is). It’s the weakest of the four movies but well worth watching because it is canon.

Would love to hear your thoughts of someone watching KK1 for the first time?

Kinda surreal that this movie was "rebooted" 30 years later with the same actors.

There is a school of thought on youtube that Daniel is the real bully lol.

Honestly weird watching it after Cobra Kai S1 and watching it almost as a prequel to the show haha. I think the ending is very abrupt although I understand the opening scene of KK2 was meant to be the final scene which would have made more sense.

I watched that movie at the cinema back in the day and enjoyed it as a teenager. A rewatch a few years ago confirmed for me that it is basically the longest music video ever made with one of the shallowest stories ever put to film.

Got a feeling which hasnt been discussed on the internet so far, from what I have seen, I think Julie Pierce and Daniel may begin as foes before joining "together", if it at all. The show seems to like to not be predictable.

Will be interesting how they introduce her, did Daniel know about her? Did Mr Miyagi ever talk about her to Daniel? Is she basically a stranger to Daniel?

Ive actually enjoyed seeing how Daniel has flawed characteristics.
